    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Thanks, Bryan. Yes that's the link I referred to, so I've bookmarked it again. I've found other bookmarked links that are also no longer working or found. So it looks like there's a problem on my end...

Re: Dear Heloise: Quick Drying Prints

Way Beyond Monochrome 2nd Ed contains a practical test to quantify the dry-down effects for various papers, both resin-coated (which I don't use) and fiber. The tests are done only once, prior to a...

    Re: Sinar Six batteries

According to the Sinar literature I've saved, they offered two different systems for metering at the film plane: the SINARSIX-digital and the PROFI-select TTL. Assuming that you have the non-digital...
  7. Re: filter factors: measuring them using a lightmeter?

FWIW, here's a screenshot from the manual (Pentax Digital Spotmeter) that discusses metering of various subject colors. I have no idea what the Zone VI mod does. The Standard Index on my meter is...

    Re: Light leaks 4x5 holders

I tend to agree with Doremus. Also, not related to leak (I think), I noticed the aspect ratio of your image is much closer to 5x7 rather than 4x5 per your title. I also noticed there are "grip" marks...
  9. Re: filter factors: measuring them using a lightmeter?

I don't know if this screenshot will help or further confuse. It's a screenshot of an Excel curve that I plotted quite a while ago to show the relationship between the exposure factor and the number...

Re: 90mm Schneider 4x5 lens problem?

If both shots were done at the same time, one with color film & the other with b/w film (therefore two different holders), and the anomaly is nearly identical in both, it suggests the problem is not...

Re: 90mm Schneider 4x5 lens problem?

Colonel, you may get a response from someone suggesting use of a torch rather than a flashlight to look for light leaks ... don't do it, as the flames would probably do more damage than good. :D :D :D

    Re: Streaks, streaks, streaks... 8x10

You're right. I'm guilty of thinking negatively about this.

    Re: Streaks, streaks, streaks... 8x10

I'd vote for a light leak in camera. The upper right corner of the image suggests a leak at the left lower area of the camera. Possibly a warped film holder or a piece of debris between the holder...

  20. Re: How to calculate bellows extension from the bellows factor?

It's just a simple calculation using algebra. The formula for calculating the bellows FACTOR is:
Extension squared divided by lens focal length squared. So if you already know the bellows factor,...

  25. Re: Do not forget to close old FS listings...

I was hoping for a list of just the ones in FS subforum. But I think, since the total list that shows up under "Latest Threads Started" is not too long I can work with that. Thanks, Bryan.
  26. Re: Do not forget to close old FS listings...

I've yet to find a way to search the FS forum and bring up a listing of all my un-closed threads from way back, so I can close them. Is this not possible?
