Wow.... this is amazing!
Yes,Thomas. All natural light. I tilted the lens to put the focus on the face. It creates a more intimate image, imo. Less attention to the (covered) nudity.
Shot in August, but scanned this week...

Maybe we (all) just want to make pretty pictures... Nothing wrong with beauty, imho. I shoot lots of sports for a living. No higher motives or meaningfulness there. I've also seen my fair share of...

Love that image, Ustas!
Your work is amazing, Stephane. I really enjoy looking at it :-)
That is what I was thinking....:o
It is mounted on an old Burke & James, no Packard shutter, but I suspect that the previous owner did use one (there is an opening in the lensboard). It is a big lens, and focussing at portrait...
Anyone ever used a Schneider Componon 300mm F5.6 for shooting 8x10? I recently bought an old 8x10 and it had this lens on the lensboard. The camera needs restoring so I haven't tried this combo yet....
Very impressive work Stephane!
Nice!!!!
Amazing (self) portraits, Kerik! Get well soon.
Love your work, Frank. Where do you find all those wonderful models...

I like this one very much! :-)
Nothing beats the Photomechanic and Photoshop (elements) combo, imho... Photomechanic is a very fast image browser, also works perfect with scanned images and it is the best IPTC captioning tool...

According to this link he shot the Tuaregs with a view camera. Might be a 6x9, my French isn't that good... Maybe he combined digital with film: http://www.phild.ch/GQMakingOf/GQ_makingof-2008.pdf...
my 7-y.o. daughter when she saw my "new" Speed Graphic: "woow! that's a camera like they use in Harry Potter!" followed by :"where is the thing that gives light?" (referring to the typical strobe)....

Speed Graphic with Aero Ektar 7" 2.5 wide open, on Ilford HP5 in 1+1 xtol
Yeah, all photography can be seen as documentary :-) But I am looking for images in the line of this: http://www.phild.ch/main.php?c=1 (touareg rebel series) Documentary/photojournalism, more...
Are there any documentary photographers who shoot LF around on this forum? I am interested to see your results! Links to contemporary LF documentary shooters are also welcome.
I'm planning to shoot...
Can't buy Acros in my country... What about Ilford HP5? This was the film I preferred in my 35mm and 120 days... I'm considering TMX and TMY in x-tol for 4x5"
Thx for the replies.
This is interesting and makes sence. The 35 mm films I developed for printing are to dense for proper scanning. Back then I used a diffuse enlarger but loved grain so I pushed...
I was wondering if any of you notice differences in scan quality between different films types? I'm planning of scanning 4x5 negs in an Epson 4870. Do some films give better results than others,...
Interesting thread... So skip the flower pot tanks and go for a rotating tank :-) I'm searching for a Jobo 2521 with the 2409n reel on ebay as we speak. Not easy to find...
Thanks for the replies everybody.
So better to look for a drum method then. I used to develop a lot of 120 rollfilm in a paterson drum and didn't always have even results. So I'm hesitating to start...
Hi, I am a LF newbe and I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these kinds of tanks?...
