They work quite well. For BW they are good enough in most situations. I do carry a spotmeter as well – but do not need it too often.

I would't rely on them for shooting slides.

I use an older Manfrotto quick release plate. It has a screw in every corner. An M5 (metric) does not fit, so I think it is imperial. Does anyone know the correct thread size?
