I've been VERY happy with Bruno Lancement at http://www.atelierdeblanc.fr/.
His main activity is restoration, but he also did some CLA for me and has the skills and equipments to rebuild/adapt any...
This seems a good starting point.
My company actaully puts "sense of humor" in the assets for new candidates, may be this should be the same here ;-)
Real names (or at least screen names based on real names) and irrevocable license do it for me. I'm not a very frequent contributor (have much more to learn than to teach) but when I post I make sure...
The French forum has this article, I promised myself I'd build this hood sometime... http://www.galerie-photo.com/construire-viseur-chambre-arca.html
Down Boulevard Beaumarchais you'll find one for sure.
My favourite address is "Le Grand Format" , at number 54.
L'instantané on the same avenue had some very good Nikon ones the last time I...
My Tachihara 4x5 feels fine on a Velbon CF645, it is about the same weight as your camera + lens setup.
The tripod is quite compact and sturdy enough, so it is my favourite for hiking.
Bienvenue Philippe !
au risque de plagier Dan, connais tu galerie-photo.info ?
I confirm (not sure this is needed but anyway ;-) ) the Cascade Holder makes my life easier in the field ! I'm again abale to use my bicycle to do LF stuff (mobility is key for me, and the bike is...
I received the package today, which is way better than expected (1 week for 12*17 days annouced), and the holder is really a nice peace of stuff !
I can't resist so I'm off to test it and make...
I just pulled the trigger, seems the package is already sent ! This is very quick, thanks for the service !
Wow, this is good news ! It makes the price much more attractive, so I'll get one !
Thanks
Laurent
Looks absolutely great ! If you can ship to France, I'll want one.
Dan, I fully agree, it's a really great site.
Je n'avais pas vu le post de Dan Fromm... cela commence à ressembler à une insistance un peu lourde ;-)
<EnglishModeON>I did not see Dan's reference to Galerie Photo, my posting might look like a...
Bienvenue François !
Il y a tout de même Galerie-Photo, même si ce n'est pas limité au GF, on en parle tout de même beaucoup !
Laurent
Very inspiring portraits, thanks for sharing !
A Berlebach might be an option to consider. This one : http://www.taos-photographic.com/product/berlebach/trepied-berlebach-9033p/ is just at 3kg, will hold 8Kg.
I own a similar one (my camera is...
+1 (does it make +2 ?)...
Berlebach with levelling head is great.
The text says it was home made (or made in a small shop), and that the shutter works when it feels like working...
I just read "Post exposure" last week, and he does not recommend using the blue filter (see p77) due to chromatic aberration in the eye.
I could not recommend it enough. Tons of information, I think it will help you grow your darkroom techniques whatever your current level is...
IF this can help, I recently used some VERY expired XTol "kit" (the 5 liter version, which was about 10 years older than expected). It was a bargain and I got it while buying Rodinal so I gave it a...
Is there a way to get it in Europe for a normal price ? I'm drooling over it but the postage would double the price, and I'd rather buy film for this amount.
I'd agree with Emmanuel, the 'lack' of a post is not a problem in LF. I own a 8033 (leveling head, no center post) and it's perfect for my 4x5 Tachihara.
I added a pano head on mine, so if I was...
This third image is absolutely gorgeous !
Trees that used to hand above the sand quarry near my wife's parents' place. Unfortunately, the trees were removed not too long ago.

Pond near my parent's place, it's been one of my favourite places for years.

River Loire during last winter's very cold episode. The river almost froze and there were ice "pancakes" for more than a week. It was a great opportunity to re-ignite my LF landscape photography !

I don't own this head, but am considering it. My understanding is that it is designed that way, so that the camera does not collapse if the head is a bit loose... From what I read about it, I did not...
I am no expert, but this seems a correct price. At least I'd be happy to buy such a "kit" for this price, if the marks are only cosmetics and limited.
Hello,
there is this list http://galerie-photo.com/traitement-film-photo-argentique-les-resultats.htm, maintained by the French Forum...
I don't use it (only home processing) but the people on...
Bienvenue !!
I'm in the center of France, near Orléans
LF is not for every subject (at least for me). My landscapes suck, while I'm very happy with portraits (I almost never shoot portraits, because they suck, but in LF that's another thing. I shoot lots...
Apo Symmar 150/5.6
In fact, it's now my only LF lens. I had up to 5 lenses, and spent too much time fiddling with lenses, different shutters, etc... So I sold the others and kept this one, and...
Bienvenue Cedric !!!
Laurent
I'm using it and quite happy, but it's easier with a quick release (which I did use) or a pan "head" (which I now use, very simple device from Manfrotto, which allows only rotation of the camera).

First time I'm posting an image here. There are too many great landscapes so it took some time to simply dare !!
Here's a view of River Loire in Chateauneuf Sur Loire (France).

Most of my hearing, and the ability to talk are going when I'm shooting and 'inspired'.
If shooting several images in a row, I'll usually loose the sense of time passing...
Welcome on LFF, Steve !
