Thanks! I wish I had tried it sooner. I was worried about the low iso, alleged low contrast, and something new. For the iso, I didn't even meter; the sunny 16 rule was good enough. (And I'd...
I'd been meaning to try out the paper negative process for awhile now. I met this gentlemen while I was trying out my new-to-me Shen-Hao 6x12 back. When I mentioned paper negatives, he said he'd...
I wish I could contribute to the pretty lady side of the thread, but alas... Here's a scan of a print from one of my first paper negatives.

Howdy okcomputer!
I'm still pretty new to LF photography, so take my words with a grain of salt... I'd say that you can't go too wrong with a get a Sinar F or two and a lens in the 120-210...
Yeah, I'm with you there. I've only just started to print, and I like my silver gelatin prints way more than scans or inkjet prints...
Rince, I'd say you did just fine. I love waterdrops on flowers;) I'm no expert yet, but it seems like digitizing negatives is like printing in a darkroom...
I dropped a dslr and busted the haze filter that I had on it. The glass broke, and the ring wouldn't come off... I asked around and someone mentioned that you can push the lens against your shoe to...
Thanks David! I'm finally finding some time to play around in the studio, and flowers are my first order of business;)
Thanks Richard! It is indeed Arista.EDU 100. The lens might cover 8x10 if you're interested in playing with it at some point.
Thanks! Mr. Jefferson's University has lots of great architecture, so it isn't too hard to find something worthwhile to photograph!
Here's a quick shot from the University of Virginia. This is a walkway leading up to the Rotunda.

Let me know what you think!
I just got a new-to-me B&L Projection Lens. I think it's somewhere in the 12-14 inch range. The diameter is 3.5 inches, so I guessed that it's a f/4 and shot these...

I wish I could help with going through the stuff, but also too far south. If there are 8x10 and larger cameras which might go for cheap, I could be interested as well...
... Don't forget to factor in your bellow draws since you're taking a macro shot of a penny. And then...?!
Thanks Frank and Richard!
Richard, I'll definitely have to try out that brass lens. Hopefully your workshop goes well! I might have some free time this weekend if things are calming down...
Hi all, here's one from my new-to-me Sinar F shot on Arista.EDU 100.

Since I don't have any groovy brass glass or an Aero-Ektar,...
Here's a shot from a few weeks ago... It's from my first batch of Arista.EDU 100 4x5 rolled BTZS style in Dektol 1:1.

Thanks darr! I'm already hooked on big negatives. Well, at least 4x5;) I don't know how working with 8x10 or bigger would be;)
If you're fine with newbies, I'm in! This sounds like a great idea. Thanks for organizing (again).
Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely need to try out photographing the same scene repeatedly to see how it works out. I'm not sure if leaves will be my first repeat subject though;) I live in...
Thanks Armin! The best part of doing this shot was that I didn't need a studio. We were outside on a dark night;) Next time I'll watch the ears more!
Thanks h2oman. I'm definitely looking to improve my compositional skills, and I certainly agree this one could be much stronger. It seems that some folks can reach into a pile of leaves and find a...
Hi all. I'm still new to LF photography, but I figured I'd give the leaves a try. This is from a walk this past Sunday. I'd appreciate any feedback or suggestions on photographing subjects like...
Hi all, here's my first image on the forums. I was trying out lighting with a 4x5 and some small strobes. Here's my motivation. ...
Thanks all! I appreciate all the suggestions. I'm liking the idea of toning various papers for different times to show the difference in papers and toning times. By the way, my professor ordered...
Hi all, I'm a mathematician taking a photography class at the school I work at. This is my first semester shooting 4x5 and printing in a darkroom. As the semester winds down, the photography...
