  1. Re: I am beyond disappointed.

I have no problem with threads where the discussion gets heated or impassioned or even "boils over." Personal attacks is where I would draw the line, not disagreements about ideology.

  3. Re: dealing with medium format technical cameras here in the Forum

This is why I think it makes more sense to define what is and isn't large format based on camera parameters regardless of imaging material.

Perhaps a sheet film forum, then?

  5. Re: dealing with medium format technical cameras here in the Forum

Personally, I'd prefer this place to be a view camera forum, which would include the cameras Paul is talking about but ecxlude DSLRs.

But that dead horse has sailed.

In the "whatever else is out there" category are Cibachrome 8x10 drums. I use them on rotary bases for all my daylight negative developing and they work really well. (They are cheap, too.) The only...

I agree. It's hard to know, but it wouldn't surprise me if this was lit with just window light and reflectors. Regardless, it seems both dated and timeless at the same time.

Iris clamp / universal lens mount. Not having to make/buy lens boards for all those vintage flange-less barrel lenses is a blessing.

I've always found this Steichen image to be visually striking despite--or beacuse of?--the fact that the background is in focus and subject isn't, not to mention the cropped head and torso.

I'm partial to my 6" and 6.5" Cinephor projection Petzvals for 4x5 use, both around f/2.8. One is coated and one isn't. They were dirt cheap, too. Why do I like them? I just like the look, I guess.
