    Re: Portraits from 2024

I love LF shots that kinda look like 35mm shots. This has a very Bresson look to it and it's on a LF! So cool.

  3. Re: Acme Synchro Shutter flash sync question

Seems to work okay, haven't used these strobes in a while. Now to find a project.
Just got to remember. 1/50 or was it 1/25? And blue dot on lens. I have a bi-post to male and a female to...
  4. Re: Acme Synchro Shutter flash sync question

What sucks now is that I won't be able to use this Acme outdoors with a fill. Bummer :( Man, I haven't used bulbs since I was 12 and using a 110 camera :)
  5. Re: Acme Synchro Shutter flash sync question

I'm guessing the White (F) is about 5milliseconds and Blue is 25mm which won't sync with 1/100 or even 1/150 (on Acme shutters). I'm thinking either settings blue or white, it will work with 1/50...
  6. Re: Acme Synchro Shutter flash sync question

Thanks Mark! I did more testing. At first I thought I had 1. bad developer, 2: shutter too high, so I had to make sure I did a few and make sure #1 was not a culprit.

    Here's what happened, mind...
  7. Acme Synchro Shutter flash sync question

Okay nerds, I got a good one. On the side of the old Acme is a lever for the flash sync. I KNOW for sure my flash is working and I tested the same f/stop shutter combo on my digital camera. On the...

    Re: Industrial Images (Large Format)

    NICE!!!
I worked as an assitant one time and we went to New Jersey to photograph on of them fancy 30 yard long printing presses (back in the 80's). They couldn't stop the run but we had a hard time...

  11. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Good point! I buy old bikes (I'm a long time cyclist) and completely take it apart and restore them. I've seen a lot of "sketchy mechanics" and some have access to welding tools. Yikes. But once...
  12. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Totally agree! The price is right. Exactly what happened a few weeks ago with another one and owner said the rangefinder was correct. And by the time I got back to him, he had sold it already. ...

  15. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

He did know enough when I asked him to verify the rangefinder with what he sees in the GG so at least he knew what that meant! I'm guessing with it a little off, and he doesn't use the rangefinder...
  16. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

You provide very good advice Brian. Yes, it is local and "on the fence" about buying it. Haven't heard hemming-and-hawing in a while, that's a good one. I think only CRAZY people want to use...
  17. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Sorry, just looking at pics of the rail bed and just want to confirm. There are settings in front with foot markings, 6 - 8 - 10 all the way to infinity mark. So I turn the focus knob on the left,...

Also, thanks for the PDF link!!
  19. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Ahhhh, I was typing, and then did my "morning bitness after coffee" and didn't see this. So my earlier post before this was asking about infinity focus, and I think I guessed the answer and you...
  20. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Very good advice! Thank you. I'm not bad with mechanics, and yes, you are right, if the parts aren't there and no amount of fiddling witl fix it. Can you explain, I think I kinda know what this...
  21. Re: How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Thanks, I've been on graflex site but not much. Since I don't have one. But I have an opportunity to pick one up locally. He said "the finder is set for 8 feet, but the ground glass is sharp and...
  22. How difficult is it to adjust TOP MOUNTED rangefinder on a Graflex?

Hi guys, wanting to try my hand on LF handheld but not with those fancy 3dprinted cone cameras. Was looking at graflex and lots of hard to follow instructions on Kalart side mounted rangefinders but...

  24. Re: crappiest camera and lens what did you do with it?

Does anyone NOT REMEMBER the internet early days of "Plungercam?" Some guy with a hasselblad. I wish the website was still up. My love of cheap cameras and lenses come from working in and studios....
  25. Re: crappiest camera and lens what did you do with it?

Sounds like one of them fancy Lomo cameras with a butchered Leica Summicron attached to it via hot glue, prayers, and hairpins. It'll be the next Insta/tiktok artist to go millionaire.

  37. I'd like to try wet scanning my 8x10, on a flat bed, some tips?

Hello all, it is windier than Chicago politics right now in Southern California.
I do some wet scanning on my 35mm, 120 film on one of those holders that have a ANR glass.

    Equipment: Epson V700...

Re: Problems focusing with 14" lens
