Hi guys...
I have bound and loose volumes of similar mags, no way I could throw 'em out. I'll do the same deal; shipping from Lutz FL (33558) by the pound or whatever, or you can pick 'em up. ...
If you can go the price, Durst or DeVere.
I've added Edwal LFN to developer to prevent foaming; it worked fine and didn't cause any problems.
No idea how it'd do with sheet films in a tray, but I'd be more inclined to us e it than...
D-76 1:1 7'50"/68F or 1:3 12'25"/68F EI 100, one minute prerinse.
The one I had when I had a Beseler worked fine. Very bright, good evenness. You do have to have the blower; there's a lot of heat generated.
Mamiya RB backs are essentially the same as the Horseman, Graphic etc backs. I d on't believe RZ backs would be workable but I don't know for sure.
I use Horseman backs on a couple of cameras and...
Seems to me you instructor needs more instruction.
Anyway, fwiw, Tri-X and T-Max 100 both give silver-gelatin negs, not chromogen ic dye-cloud negs. The curve shapes, which govern tonal...

Discontinued?
Although I'm not familiar with the 3005 drum, I think you're getting undecoloriz ed dyes where the film presses against the drum walls.
You don't have to fix forever. Give a normal fix time,...
FWIW long ago I found monorail cameras to be an incredible pain in the posterior as far as toting the things around goes. They can be lightweight but they can a lso be really bulky.
Of the ones...
A Paterson print washer tray. With the dividers in place it'll hold two 8x10 neg s or four 4x5 negs. If I had more to wash at a time I'd just wash 'em in the Ver salab print washer, although with the...
Non-photographer pokes his head up under the darkcloth to see what I'm up to.... "It's in color!!"
I'm getting EI 80 in D-76H 1:3 and EI 64 in Rodinal 1:100. So far about 10% less time looks good for N-1.
One way to find out; after the stop bath remove the film from the drum, fix and HCA it in a tray.
TMX in Rodinal 1:100 works well, giving the film an edge sharpness that's missin g with many developers. Dunno about the hangers though.
Ordinarily LPD is light golden but the most recent batch I mixed is a somewhat b rown solution. Works normally though.
Although I don't normally push LF film it works the same way as pushing smaller formats.
Using a different developer such as a PQ developer will give around a full sto p more "real" speed, based...
While you can certainly develop more than one sheet at a time in a tray by shuff ling, this becomes continuous agitation and edge/adjacency effects may not be as great as with intermittent agitation....
Round up a Unicolor 8x10 print drum; it'll work fine for 8x10. You can use it ei ther on a reversing motor base or roll it back and forth on a tabletop. You can do one film in an 8x10 drum or two in...

I've learned to limit myself to lightbulbs.
You're correct in identifying the problem as caused by insufficient agitation; it's most likely insufficient both in time and vigor.
Agitation in part A should be the same as for any other...
Correct on the B button.
As for the light, I believe this meter reads off the viewing screen so if the light were to be usefully bright it'd inflate the reading.
I can tell when I've gotten firmly astride that horse again by the usually-delay ed acceptance that the photos I'm making "in the Adams tradition" are intensely, stultifyingly (is that a word?)...
You'd use whichever lens gives the repro ratio you want at the working distance you want..or vice-versa. It's probably easiest to work out what repro ratio you want, set the appropriate extension,...
I'll give a WAG of series 8...but that may be entirely wrong. Anyway, if you can fit a screw-in filter be careful because the thread pitch of the series retaini ng ring and a screw-in filter is...
I've had both a long time but found that I was always using the 135 so I've been just leaving the 150 at home. The difference is fairly subtle but imho it's sig nificant.
Otoh, one drawback of...
Every now and then I find that I need to use a lot rise, more than the camera pr ovides directly, and I've found that the limiting factor is the bellows.
I was using a Toyo 45AII and, using...
Looks like separation to me.
Return the lens. No way is a Raptar worth the cost of getting it recemented un less you do it yourself.
As Eric amply explained, it works fine, even letting you scan for SBR etc...but if you want to match the capability of an ordinary Minolta Spotmeter (or equival ent) you'll need to use a 300mm...
I found that 60ml D-76H stock/roll (used 1:3) yields identical EIs and curve sha pes to 120ml stock/roll (used 1:1), therefore with the films I use 60ml stock/ro ll is sufficient.
However, note...
I've seen mentioned here and there that _not_ using a stop bath can cause dichro ic fog.
I don't believe there's any good reason to avoid using stop unless you're usin g a high-carbonate...
Meters aren't necessarily calibrated to the same standard and of course might no t retain their calibration over a period of use.
I can't think of any good reason to believe that a rental Sekonic...
You can buy Polycontrast gels from Kodak and cut to fit.
The Angulon will cover with some room for movement; however, imho image quality is pretty mediocre for such a comparatively (to 4x5) small neg. I've found the m odern 90 f6.8 Sironar-N and f8 Super...
I'll go way out on a limb and recommend the fairly common Tachihara folding wood field camera. Why?
Well, they're easy to find on the used market and aren't incredibly expensive new, they're...
The usual develop and stop, then two 30-second baths in film-strength rapid fixe r (no hardener), 10 minutes in a 2.5% sodium sulfite HCA, then into the wash tan k.
If I'm going to tone the prints...
One local lab mounts Cibas face-to on plex using some sort of adhesive. I don't know what they use other than that it's cold-mount and of course it avoids the o range-peel etc. They'll just pop off...
> operate with your Large Format in the field
I use a fold-up steel handcart; it works fine most of the time. I just lash th e bag and tripod to it.
