I still like Epson Ultrasmooth Fine Art paper a lot. I also print some on Exhibition Fiber but the USFAP is very appealing and has a more sensual quality.

I shoot three exposures (+2,0,-2) and blend in Photomatix. But then I am shooting with an Aptus 75S
I doubt if the graphics card will matter much with Photoshop but you may find the MBP a bit slow. I traded mine on a Mac Pro and its much faster and more versatile.
Using Save for Web & Devices in CS4 allows you to save as a .png with a transparent background. Don't know if that works for your situation.
So what is so great about a Chamonix? I've seen people even dump their Arca Swiss for one. I find it hard to believe that it is that wonderful.
I hope it works better than your http://www.ifotoguide.com/ website. Comes up HUGE at normal browser size. (Safari)
My advice...buy precut mats from Frame Destination. They have Bainbridge Alphamat in both 4 ply and 8 ply at what I think are pretty reasonable prices. And they have almost every size and opening...
I'd hang it without any additional mat or frame, but put cleats on the back so it floats off the wall.
He just moved to a new spot. No there is another galley where Fatali used to be but not his.

I visited David Pettit's gallery in Springdale, Utah on Wednesday. He has a great gallery, shoots 4x5 and 6x7 sometimes only using Velvia and never touches a filter, even a grad.
I think it's...
I thought for sure you were talking about the magazine again :)
My Leaf Aptus 75S will make a 24x32 print at just over 200 dpi. Seems more like a good scan from a 6x7 transparency in terms of resolution but with 12 stops dynamic range.
Looks very cool. Will it replace a Z1 DP functionally, or at least allow panning without losing its level?
I love the Arca Z1 DP. Once you level the camera you can pan at the top and stay level. Not only for stitched panos but also to change your composition.
One thing cool about LR is you can do a graduated ND filter at the raw file level. I can't imagine anyone not using PS after LR processing though.
If you're shooting transparency film it is much easier to use a spot meter for the highlights then open up 1.5 stops. Your DSLR might blow the highlights with an average reading.
Thats pretty funny.
An update on Blurb versus Lightning Source. Now i have a proof from each vendor and I can say unequivocally that Blurb's color rendition and reproduction is far superior to LSI.
But, and a Big...

In my un-humble opinion, anyone who uses a PC instead of a Mac deserves Windoze in any of it's garbage ridden releases.
Buy the ram from OWC not Apple.
What about one of the new 27" iMacs? The high end model is quad core and takes up to 16 GB ram.

The only camera that the standard Maxwell screen doesn't improve on is an Arca Swiss which already has a great screen.
West Coast Imaging has a Creo IQsmart3 that should work great. They are in Oakhurst.
Instead of wondering why not do a little research and find out.

Maybe my surprise was based on my inability to hike 40 miles especially with 20 or 25 lbs on my back.
Says he hiked 40 miles to get one image. 40 Miles ? Give me a break.
Honestly I don't see anything here to write home about.
You can get perfect bound paper backs done in color from Lightening Source for $!.00 + $.09 per page and there is no 180 page limit, more like 480 pages. Check it out.
The problem with Blurb, besides your quality problems, is that they are priced too high if you want to sell them for a profit. Their prices are what a retail price should be.
Never say "final cut". Mine has been changing since 2002 and is far better for it.
If you used Slideshow Pro for galleries you could have scalable full screen images to fit any screen.
What do you mean by that?
A better option may be Lightening Source. They seem more professional and can get you into Amazon and Barnes and Noble. They don't have the online purchasing option but you can buy them and sell...
A 90mm for 8x10 ? Seems way too wide for me. Thats like putting a 45mm lens on 4x5. I'd pick a 150mm for the wide end, probably a Super Symmar XL.
Rudeness is what this forum is all about !
I just discovered Frame Destination. They have very good pricing on cut Bainbridge Alpharag in many sizes and opening sizes. They carry both 4 ply and 8 ply. My first order was delivered very...
The biggest problem with the Mamiya 7 especially if you are shooting color transparency film is the inability to accurately place a grad filter. Unless your image has no sky in it this will be a...
Maybe you could use a cigar box with a hole in it for a camera. Is your middle name "Cheap"?
