Any specialty paper store should be able to get you a embossing tool.
I use rubylith and amberlith. Have used on mine for years. Also but together a set for a friend.
If you have the time use the route through Alamagordo(White Sand Monument) to Las Curces to Albq to Flagstaff to Phoenix. Its a round about way to go but lots of good sites on the way.
If thats too...
I have the universal head with the B/W controller on my 45vxl and love it. If only they had made one for 8x10.
What ever the market will bear. Start at what you want and put at a percentage higher for haggle. Don't be surprised if its set at a high price that you will be in for a wait.
That's a good one. I have a beater Dorff for know but at some point want a Ritter for the weight savings. Cameras are like cars everyone thinks theirs is the best.
Go down to Arizona Art Supply and see if they have any ruby or amber lithe available and tape too glass. That is where I got mine for my Thomas safelight, has been working great for years. I you need...
I have always found that if you use your head you can tell most of the time if they will be a paying client. If your in doubt get a deposit that covers your costs. Like Kirk I have more than one way...
There is some deardorff 11x14 part on the auction site now. Was going to buy them but don't really need a project right now.
My press will do 40x60. Anything up to 40x60 is doable with glass, as long as you are not going to ship it or use an extremely small frame.
I bought a ton of Jobo equipment(Drums/Reels) and chemistry from a lab in Tuscon for $300. Kept all the chemistry and half the jobo equipment. All said and done I made back my $300 and an extra $150.
Sorry for the quality, had to steal it from my site. I don't scan any of my photos.
I know the D5 head could be used with the 45vxl with the adapter but I am not sure about the D2.
$500 is a descent price for that set up. The VXL is awesome, as is the universal head(love mine). Does the head have the B/W or color controller?
My small space
Got the film today, then checked my readyload holder. I forgot it was the older style with the chrome plate. Can this be used or do I need to look for a newer one?
Greetings all,
Please join me for the opening of the Expressive Light, Shadow and Form Exhibition, for which I am a contributing artist, at the Sundust Gallery on Friday, November 13 from 6 pm to...
I considered ordering more so I could pass along the deal but my account couldn't handle that right now. I came across the deal at 11pm last night or I would have posted it here.
YouTube has a preview. Looks interesting.
Just pick up 5 boxes of readyloads from Calumet last night for $5 a pop in there new oneshot deals. It expired in 03/09 and I now have 100 shts to go through. Opinions and any tricks to this film...
8x10 is the largest I own right know. I will still do all my black and white traditionally, I just want to be able to do color this way.
I have never dealt with having negatives scanned until today. I am completely traditional with my fine art photography but was going to try and go digital printing for color. Since I do not do ton of...
They make UV laminates, I use them all the time for commercial customers. I would not called it Archival though Jmho. Nice looking prints Jim.
Congratulations, its always good to have a pat on the back and know you are doing something worthwhile.
I will never understand these arguments. I am not a hugh fan of digital, I use it when it is required by the job. I see traditional prints and digital prints as two separate entities , neither is...
Here is what I was looking at the other day. A little modification and should work great. These are available at harbor freight for $50 and support 200lbs.
Wish mine was that light. My kit- Deardorff, two lenses, 5 holders , dark cloth, misc and tripod. I don't want to know the weight.
Acratech ultimate ball head. I loved this head when I borrowed one, wish I didn't have to give it back. Someday I'll pick one up.
All used, except the digital I need for work. I avoid ebay and use LFPF, APUG, and KEH.
I get mine at Harbor Freight. You may be able to order it from their website.
Spray or brush on liquid electrical tape. Been discussed before and I have used it on both camera and enlarger bellows.
Trying to find a reasonably priced one now or a 450mm.
Thanks for the replies. I picked up a 6.7 to replace my 6.3. I have got some great photos from the 6.3 with my 8x10 but had to be sure the lens was dead center.
Are there any Fuji 250mm f6.7 to avoid? This is for 8x10, thanks.
There are not many galleries left that don't want some kind of money from the artist. This may be a regional issue though.
I believe the devere weighs more than the omega head. I recently acquired a omega head w/ a durst 184 enlarger. I no longer think the weigh would be the issue but the shear size would make it hard to...
Current road conditions can be found at 209-372-0200. This is in park road info.
Just spent last sun-thur there. We got caught in the seasons first snow fall. No bears but every other kind of wild life was abundant. Will probably go back same time next year.
I think I can make it down. Can provide a ride if anyone from phoenix is going.
