I am using paper with mine, I cut it to 3 3\4" x 6 1\4" and that works out to 23 square inches. LF all the way. :D

Re: Price range for a Technika V.

The camera is black with the little flap on top. I realize that the suggested value was for the camera body alone. What I paid for everything is well over the 1000.00 mark.

Thanks for the info, mahogany it is then.
  8. Re: Boxwood for cameras and film holders?

I'm also thinking of making my own film holders, would oak be a good material to use?
Other than the weight are there other reasons for not using oak?

It only weighs 74 pounds, I figured the dog can handle it.;) The price was right. The head unscrews and I am hoping that I can use it on a survey tripod.

Thanks that gives me a good indication for what its worth.
The unit is coming from a gov. auction, looks to be in very good condition. Shipping wont be an issue since it is local for me.

    Re: Camera project is done

If I were to build a new back I could go with a larger format. 11x14 could be possible, the dimension at the back is 15x15.
