I forgot to mention that when I scan in TIFF, I am turning all histogram, curves, and flextight settings off, so that there is no clipping. I am using some sharpening by leaving the setting at 0.

Hello all. I'm preparing to scan a very large batch of negatives using a Hasselblad Flextight scanner. I've used the machine before, but I am new to the 3f raw file format that is included with the...
Hi guys,
So I recently moved into a new apartment and brought my Epson 4990 with me. I sat down to scan some film and found that the prescan was taking much longer than usual and when it was done,...
Just tried this out and have determined that it is indeed the pump that is broken and not the circuit board. Only thing is, I'm a little short on money and am getting very impatient with this...
Is there a way to determine exactly what the problem may be before ordering new parts? Obviously, I would like to avoid ordering part that are not needed. I'm not sure if I should be looking for a...
The motor to rotate the drum runs fine. When I go to turn on the pump, nothing happens. I recall there being a little bit of smoke inside the unit, above the water and under the plastic housing near...
I bought a Jobo CPA-2 on Ebay a few months back and when I attempted to use it for the first time, found that the water pump does not work. I have taken the Job apart to see if there was anything...
Hello all,
I have been reading many threads on this forum as well at the APUG forum as I am preparing to buy my first batch of film for my newly purchased Jobo CPA2. I was wondering if any of you...
Thank you! I didn't realize not having the screws in would have such an effect. Thanks again.
Here is a picture of the lift up and the lift down. As you can see, the chicken foot is not able to turn left without bumping into the lift when it is down. Please let me know if you have run into...
Hi there. So I finally tracked down the right cog piece to connect the newer model CPA2/CPP2 lift to the older CPA2 unit and am encountering one final problem. The cog piece fits as it should onto...
Does anyone know of anywhere??? I would so much rather drop my lens off somewhere as opposed to having to wait for it to ship back and forth from somewhere farther away.
Where is everyone finding the new 160 4x5 film?
Ooh, okay. I read they were getting rid of VC and NC and just making Portra, but I had not seen any Portra 160 anywhere, so I thought they might have done away with that as well. Has anyone seen any...
Kodak Portra 160NC is the only film I have shot 4x5 with since I have started (3 or 4 years ago). I just now found out that is has been discontinued. Would anyone be able to recommend a suitable...
Thanks for all the help everyone!
Here's the picture that I was talking about in the previous post.
On the back of the drive magnet, a small brass piece fits into the back of it that sits on the end of the peg while allowed the screw to attach through the drive magnet from the other end. I am...
Thanks Alan! That was a helpful link. However, I am still a little confused. The instructions on the link say that the tapered drive shaft corresponds to a hex headed screw, while the straight drive...
I recently purchased a Jobo CPA2 separately from a CPA2/CPP2 unit. I am having some trouble attaching the cog piece that I assume is the critical piece that connects the unit to the lift. The CPA2...
Hello all. I've currently been in the market for a Jobo CPA-2 Unit. I want it to mainly process C-41 4x5 film. I received an offer from someone on this board but I just wanted to check with some...
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction guys!
Thank you all! You've been a great help.
Hello all. I posted this same question in a thread that was created a few years ago, so I wanted to create a more recent and relevant thread. I apologize for the redundancy. I am looking into buying...
I am looking into purchasing a Jobo to process mainly C-41 4x5 negatives. After reading through the thread, I am certain I want either a CPP-2 or CPA-2. As far as I can tell, the only major...
Sorry, I forgot to mention that I am using Nikon Scan. I tried using the kodachrome setting and like Paul C said, it did a pretty okay job but the colors were still a little flat. I have never heard...
I came upon a bunch of kodachrome slides that have been in my family since the 1950's and have set upon the task of scanning them. I am using a Nikon Coolscan 5000, which I heard isn't bad for...
Thanks for the info! Has anyone ever worked with Professional Camera Repair Services in NYC?
You can definitely hear the clicking when it fires, but it either gets gummed or fires very quickly at slower speeds. Also, it's a Copal 0 shutter.
I think this is actually working a bit, but I'm afraid that it still isn't firing accurately. Is there any way to check? I don't want to bring it out in the field and have it crap out on me.
Nope. You don't NEED a cable release to fire it.
So a few months ago I bought a Nikon 150mm lens on Ebay that was used but supposedly in perfect working condition. I just recently got a cable release to fire the shutter and it is definitely not...
the manfrotto 410 looks nice but maybe a little too expensive?
Also, I definitely want a quick release system too.
OK, I've settled on the Traditional Feisol CT-3371 with center column now I just need to pick a tripod head. In the past, I've only used a 3-way head. I'm thinking about a geared head to cut down on...
Are the RAL Anti-Rotation Legs necessary?
Anyone have any experience with a Gitzo G1228, GT2330 or GT2530? I thought the G1228 might look a little too flimsy. Again, I have a Wisner Traditional.
Yeah, I guess you're right I should just bite the bullet.
