Wondering if anyone has direct experience comparing the Ro. 90/4.5 Grandagon N (latest model, which I have) against the SS 80/4.5?
I'm getting interested in the 80/110 combination, but the 90 is...

I'm getting interested in the 80/110 combination, but the 90 is...
Okay, this has probably been beat to death, but here goes again:
I'm getting set to work on a portrait series with an 8x10. Suffice to say that I'm pretty darn new to the format, although fairly...
Folks,
I've been looking around for a 300mm Imagon and, sort of by accident (because I found it and it was a great deal) acquired a pristine 200/5.8. This is the older-style imagon, with the...
Another "anti-tripod" trick: I learned this from a few PJs some years back and it, too, works extremely well in the right circumstances: a) Attach a Gitzo-type quick release plate (or any that has...
danny, here's an idea: I engineered a little "stand" for my monopod. Works great! You can probably buy such a thing commercially, but here's what it took: a short piece of appropriately-sized...
Folks,
Just wondering if anyone out there has sent out their 4x5 or larger film to .dr5 for processing, and what do you think. I was thinking of experimenting with 10-20 sheets, but would ...
Actually, I know my way around smaller format (including 4x5) Polaroid materials pretty darn well. In 4x5, I've done quite a bit with pos/negs and Polaroid transfers. It ain't shooting chrome, ...
Don't even think twice: Cumulus. Check out http://www.canto.com -- it's great, great stuff.
Thanks all for responses to my previous query. Just one more: I'm looking at the Calumet field processor and the Polaroid electric unit. On the face of it, I would imagine that the Polaroid is ...
I second the Fuji 690/Mamiya 7 idea. Small, compact, outstanding lenses...less weight and fuss. The 690 takes incredible pictures, as does the 7.
Not as sharp as the Nikon? I'm surprised. I wonder how the Nikon compares to the 400/5.6 HM?
Thanks -- I appreciate both answers, really, and everyone's time for chiming in!
Alas. Mr. Frost had a point, but Polaroid hasn't -- I'm really looking for practical tips, equipment suggestions, etc., etc. beyond the scope of their site offerings.
Great info -- does anyone know of manuals, how-to's, etc., to get started?
Folks,
I've been working with 4x6 polaroid pos/negs more and, the more I do it, the more I like it. Amazing potential.
Now, pursuant to another thread of mine, concerning longer lenses, I'm...
Folks,
Thanks so much for the great advice. Bottom line is, I've come across great deals on both lenses...and, as both have rather distinct applications, I might indulge. I can always sell...
I heard about the process lens issue from Bob, amongst others. Thing is, though, process lenses are smaller and, at least in some cases, a whole lot less expensive.
In 6x6, my primary portrait...
I was wondering if anyone has experience with the current Rodenstock Apo-Ronar 360/9 and Schneider 400/5.6HM? Two completely different lenses -- one a process lens, the other a telephoto -- but...
Has anyone done a side-by-side test with the Grandagon 75/4.5?
Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone out there has used both the Nikkor T 360 and the Rodenstock 360 APO Ronar? I've used a 240 Apo Ronar and found it impressive, but I wonder if there's a significant...
