No. Just black and white.
I've used a 4x10" camera almost exclusively for 12 years
Thank you both
I photograph using a dedicated 4x10" camera, buy film from Ilford's yearly ULF run, and contact print in a small darkroom. I love the little prints, they look lovely in the hand, but are lost on a...
I have two versions of the 121mm SA lens. The first is in an integrated lens/shutter which requires a 52.5mm lensboard hole. I then subsequently purchased a Copal 0 version.
Sorry, need to clairfy. I leave my negatives emulsion side up. They are presoaked in water beofre I slip into the developer. I then start my timer. I agitate continuously for the first minute, by...
Hi David,
I'm a Welshman (living in England) that uses 4x10" and tray develops individual sheets with a similar method.
I use 650ml of developer (Pyrocat HD) in 12x10" trays, agitate, by...
I use a 4x10" camera. These suggestions just exemplify how much I have to learn!
I used a Cambo monorail for landscape work for about five years. I carried the standards, with attached bellows in a Lowepro mini trekker, and carried the rail separately. It was a little bit of a...

Try Melvin Cambettie Davies at Mastermono, in London. http://www.mastermono.co.uk/site/. He's knowledgeable, experienced, and a really nice guy.

What a wonderful thread, with sublime images.
This is the river Teifi, in west Wales.
Scan of a gold toned pop print. 5x7 210mm
Yes, there has been a thread, a couple of months ago, I believe.
Jaz clock, Shen Hao 4x10, Nikkor 300mm M
Both images are wonderful.
When I lived in CT, I spent a lot of time photographing on the rocks between camps bay and llandudno - beautiful sunsets.
The images are simply wonderful.
Thanks.
Been following your wonderful 5x12 images too.

Wonderful images... I do love the panoramic format.

Mr Cad's web page is several years out of date (the large format anyway - not sure regarding the rest).
I bought (allegedly) their last 300mm M. New in box in a copal 1.
I've used them several...
Thanks Ash, you're a gent.

Where exactly?
and can anyone go and have a look?
(since I'm only on the other side of the M4 in Wilts)
As has been said previously, Ilford cut FP4+ and HP5+ to 4x10 and some places might have some in stock. Bergger cut the BPF200 to 4x10, and Fotoimpex (or retrophotographic in the UK) are able to get...
I'm another owner of the shan hao 4x10. My camera weighs 3.6kg without a lensboard.
It's a great camera as long as one understands the limitations. With a decent tripod and head, I'm able to...
Stunning!
Never knew that I could be this jealous.
Vertical compositions can be truly magical with a panoramic camera.

On this cheap computer screen, the portrait of your daughter, Kerik seems sublime. One just wishes that they could see a print in person. Wonderful.
Superb thread...
Beautiful photographs, all of them.

Taken with a Cambo SC, Boyer 135mm, a table lamp and some greaseproof paper.
Obviously not a patch on the others shown :o

Rob 5419,
When I was on holiday in Namibia earlier this year, I saw a Kodak 2D whole plate camera in a shop in Windhoek that was selling photographic prints. (I asked the shop assistant whether it...
The only drawback is that the front swing and shift are controlled by the same lever (under the standard), which is fine and dandy when the camera is horizontal.
When composed in portrait format...
Jetcode,
Will the 4x5 reducing back be constrained to one orientation?
As that is the way the 5x7 reducing back works on the 410 camera.
I have FP4+ in 13x18cm sheet - and this I believe is stock, i.e. it is cut by ilford as one of the standard sizes, and not in the yearly ULF orders.
HP5+, on the other hand is not listed by ilford...
It is the format that I'm currently considering. Lenses are no problem. Cameras... well it is possible to get canham or shen hao. Film holders and film, I guess acquiring both are plausible. Now I...
I own both Toyo (x6) and Fidelity (x2) holders in 5x4. If I can, I avoid using the Fidelity, they don't give me confidence, although it might be psychosomatic ;)
