    Darkroom Space in Las Vegas?

Recently relocated and looking for some darkroom access in Las Vegas, NV. Any suggestions?

My primary need is for open-tray sheet film processing.
  4. Re: Question about Sinar Shutters and ULF lenses

Nick - What would keep it from working is the size of the exit pupil of your particular lens. For a 610mm, f/9, you're probably OK, but I can't tell without looking at the actual lens and the...

Re: Quick releases for LF cameras

I know it well, Oren! The support board is a solid piece of mahogany because that's what I had at the time. It could just as well (or better) be made from 3/4" plywood. It's approximately 12x16...

    Re: Durst 3S

Look to see if there is a filter drawer on the right side of the head, after the bulb and before the mirror in the light path. I can't recall if my 3S had that or not. The 138 does. Failing that you...

Randy, I already did that with my last post. I let my web site go last month because I don't need the continued expense. But if I still had it, I would continue to link my images in that manner...

Re: Quick releases for LF cameras

The mounting plate I made for my 12x20 uses side rails to "contain" the camera bed and prevent twisting, obviating the need for two camera screws and any associated "surgery".

    In 2010 I wrote the...

    Re: Durst 3S

I had a 3S for several years, but never found a manual for it. None is really needed; it is, as you say, straightforward. During the time I had mine I also acquired a 138 and found few differences...

  13. Re: Enlarger Contact Printing is Good Bad ugly?

I like using an enlarger for conventional contact printing because of the control it gives me over the light. But in the past I have done contact printing on a bathroom counter (at night) and made my...

    Re: Combining Lens with Shutter

This is not a DIY project. There is more to it than just mating threads and making an aperture scale. Cell spacing is critical. You'll need to send it to a professional concern to have the lens...

  21. Re: Example of Semi-Stand vs Tray processed 7x17 negative

Okay, so let me see if I've got this... The 7x17 film is loaded by rolling it along the long axis, emulsion-in, and inserted into the conduit developing tube. After pre-wash (or not), developer is...

  26. Re: 21 1/4 Inch f/11 Kodak Copying Ektanon Lens Board size

    Re: cooke series II anastigmat?

Yes, it is surprising. I have a Cooke marked 8" f/4.5, Series II, 5x7. And that's just what it is. At one time I had tried to use it on 6 1/2 x 8 1/2 and it definitely did NOT cover, having a very...

Ari, I think it will fit a Tech board, but I'll have to double-check. I'm not at home right now, but will be tomorrow and will get back to you.

  32. Re: Tired of rickety museum pieces... what modern 8x10 or 11x14 to buy?

+1. I've had two Masters and agree that they are very rigid and robust cameras. I would also agree that the prices tend to be creeping upward, slowly, but still, on the rise.

Thanks for the clarification Louis. The bed of my 11x14 with all sections in place measures 52", so would benefit from the longer platform.
