Re: Traveling to Iceland, torn on 4x5 vs MF 6x6

Portability is your friend when traveling. We can always justify the larger negative, but ask yourself if the smaller kit will be easier. Film will certainly be smaller, allowing the ability to hold...

Lightware had one too. If you search my posts, you should find the one included when I sold mine.

His name is Grant Kernan and I think I got the last 2 of the bunch. I had 3 at one time and later sold 2 of them but kept S/N # 003.

Re: Ansco 8x10 replacement case - any success?

I hadn't really considered a soft case; thinking hard case for protection in transit.
Yes, new Lightware is not cheap but I see them used on the auction site, sometimes reasonably priced.
    Thanks...

Re: Only a mile (with an 8x10)

Carbon fiber hiking poles are nice. With a backpack, hands can be free to keep your balance... keeping your gear and yourself safe.

Ansco 8x10 replacement case - any success?

The hinge and back finally gave up the ghost today. I knew it was coming... just delaying the inevitable. Have any of you had success in finding a replacement case for your Ansco or Agfa-Ansco 8x10?...

    Cutting down film to 4x10

I have some 12x20 film that I will be cutting down to 8x10. I am going to use one of my 8x10 Ilford or Kodak 8x10 negatives as a template for cutting. This will leave me with some strips of film...

Re: Here we go... 4x6 feet prints

There's some psychology in viewing prints of this size up close. Many of Clyde Butcher's prints are hung in view of the public eye also. It's impressive to see a photo wider than our arms can reach...

  21. Re: thinking about a Seneca 5x7, any other makes I should consider?

I'm in the process of mounting a few lenses for a lightweight 5x7 Seneca 6B. I like it because it's light, has a rotating back and protects the lens when closed. Also look at Seroco and Poco, just to...

Love it! I was hoping to catch a bunch I saw at at a fair last year, later this year. Not a project, just interesting sitters for some portraits.
    Keep up the good work.

  23. Re: Flash Bulbs, Gear Info, Images of Gear & Guide Number Data

I read on a box (was it 5 or 25?) that the duration was 20ms. I bet a 3 second flash needs a lot more time before grabbing that bulb to change it.

    Tim,
Thanks. I had forgotten that link.

Mark, As long as there are guzintas and guzouttas, there will most likely be an adapter.
On a side note, you should watch Requiem For a Dream.
  25. 9.5" Velostigmat Series II - mounting options

    SINAR reducer backs

I know they offer an 8x10 to 4x5 reducer back as well as a 5x7 to 4x5 reducer back.
Was there ever an 8x10 to 5x7? I can't find one in the catalog I was looking through.
