This is a hard blow. I really would have expected Kodak to drop color neg before Fuji.

  3. Re: What discontinued product do you miss the most?

First I missed APX 25, then APX 100... (loved them in Rodinal 1:50)

Oh, did anyone mention Verichrome Pan (my favourite Kodak b/w film, I never tried Super XX)???

help, is this a magic lantern lens?

    Hello,
I've been offered what seems to be a magic lantern lens, but I really don't have a clue.
Other than the attached images, all I know are the dimensions: 12cm long, 6cm diameter. It does not...
  7. Re: Developing 4x5 sheet film in Buenos Aires

Check out Megaphoto, other than a couple of scratches here and there, they did a great job on a large 4x5 lot. It's located on the edge of Colegiales and Palermo districts; they've got a webpage too...

Re: Value of a Super Angulon 65/8?

KEH is an excellent reference, they have an EX rated one at $339. So, say $300, or $250 if you want to sell it fast?

Re: Sinar and manfrotto tripod plate

I use the 030L with my Sinar P 5x7", it just fits and feels better that the standard hex plate. As suggested by seepaert, use a tool to tighten the screw.

  13. Re: Trying to Upgrade to 5x7 on my Sinar...

Thanks for your kind words Joshua! Having an F2, when I decided to move up to 5x7 I also searched for an F2 back. They are impossible to find. A couple of times a year though, F2 5x7 rear standards...
  14. Re: Trying to Upgrade to 5x7 on my Sinar...

Hi Joshua, it will not fit an F2. You need a P or P2 rear standard bearer to use that back.
  15. Re: 5x7 or 13x18 color neg film somewhere to buy

Other than special orders, there are no neg films available in 13x18 that I know of. You can get expensive 13x18cm slide film though (at www.nordfoto.de for example)

  20. Re: Architecture field camera, what woulb you recommend ?

Stephan, you're looking for a camera for "relatively serious" architecture work with lots of movements, cheap and portable, ie field. I'm afraid those 3 request don't usually come together and you'll...

    Re: Chile/Patagonia

Yes, it's possible. For example, you could fly from Santiago to Coihaique and easily rent a car there (although I'd recommend a pickup truck or 4x4 for the unpaved roads and usual mud). Around the...

  23. Re: Question: identifying broken knob on Sinar P

That's the swing/tilt lock, according to its position, you control swing/tilt via the knob right next to it. Not sure if it's an easy fix though.

  29. Re: Would this make sense ? (CREO EverSmart Pro)

  30. Re: Sinar F2 with a 5x7 back in the field

Yes you can, but not an easy find. Plus, F2 backs are not interchangeable, so you can't shoot 8x10" unless you get a whole F2 back and standard. When shooting 5x7" I use a Sinar P back standard with...
