Quite the time capsule. I noticed I replied here when I was 36, then again at 45....and now I'm 48.

I've gone into my settings and uploaded a shot for my Avatar. It shows on my profile, but when I post, no Avatar appears. Suggestions?

Funny looking back. I posted in this thread 9 years ago that I was 36. I turn 45 in a few months. My the time flies.

    Re: Digital prints, max size

I realize that...I simply shared my experience.....as opposed to attitude. See the difference?

I find the opposite....Kodak scans smooth as opposed to Fuji pepper grain.

Neat idea. The aspect ratio seems wrong though. Seems like a 3:2 ratio instead of 4:5

That's the best idea yet. These threads raged on years ago...some of the people are different (ghost of Jorge for example) but the stuff is the same.

Re: Mistake: new rule about FS comments

I don't agree. When someone is selling a lens for $800 that normally sells online for $300...prospective buyers should be informed of such. That's not rude....it's saving someone from making a...

    Re: Kodak discontinue E6 films

After viewing Rodney's photographs at his Pier 39 Gallery a week ago, I'd say the P65+ shots, while good, where not up to the 8x10 photos. The IQ180 photographs though were another matter....they...

Re: Old Pigment Epsons Fading to Green?

Well, first off, the Ilford Paper wasn't really an archival paper. As well, the RC was designed more for dye based inks as it encapsulates the inks. The pigment inks from the Epson could have been...

  29. Re: 4x5 scans.. drum or virtual drum for 40"x50" print

While I respect Lenny greatly, 1100ppi of real info from the V700 is plain wrong. I've tested mine out to around 2200ppi with 35mm and MF. I've never done a test sheet with 4x5...but I know 1100ppi...

It's starting to feel like we'll have Fuji for color and Ilford for B&W. Not that it would be a bad thing....but I find it hard to believe that Kodak could vanish.

  39. Re: Film photography, a good business in the future ?

The Brothers Wright are a good example of applying the film niche to their business model. Check out the Twin Lens blog...it's a good read and a good example of what the latest emulsions can record.
  40. Re: Film photography, a good business in the future ?

Sorry, that's not correct. A large amount of the error correction is built upon recording a large amount of redundant data.
