I think that they've run out of ideas for new features which would justify buying a new version, so this is the only way they can continue to milk the market.

My blue filter came with a large set of Linhof filters I bought several years ago. They are in a beautiful fitted case, so I carry them all but have never used the blue one. (Unfortunately, the...
DAGOR77 -- always a pleasure.
Rapid Rectilinear. Ain't it beautiful!!!
Looks like quite a place. Where do you stay when photographing there?
The red mark is for near distances (smaller field).
Check with Midwest Photo who often have factory bellows for ONLY a few hundred dollars.
The 4x5 Speed weighs over a pound more than the Crown, and is considerably more awkward to hold. The advantage of using "barrel mount" lenses disappeared many years ago, when between-the-lens...
See one Eliot Porter image, and you've seen them all, (except, possibly, the Redbud in Kentucky woods).
I think that the camera's name is Nancy.
f:5.6/10" Tele-Raptar. It is tiny in size and weight compared with the competing German brands, and optically as good or better.
In Santa Fe on the 4th of July, the best place is downtown in the central park. Probably the best venue in the world for "people pictures."
f:3.7/105mm, and f:7.7/203mm. Incredible B&W prints from these, although when the negatives are examined under magnification they don't seem anything special.
There are only three in the U.S. -- Point Lobos, Acadia National Park, and Miami South Beach.
QT Luong. Let's give credit where it's due.

Wonderful!
Thanks for posting this and making me feel like a Troglodyte!
Early Speed/Crown Graphics came without any Fresnel. If yours didn't have it then you just replace the GG without any shimming (rough side toward the lens).
Excellent.
Thanks for posting them.
Actually, some of them work really well, but the best way to use them is usually to remove the front element so you better have a LOT of bellows draw available. I mean a LOT!
I've been looking for one for months. Haven't seen a single one for sale. Meanwhile, I use my 4x5 Nagaoka with the 5x7 extension -- not really a satisfactory arrangement.
You have to swing it out before it will detach.
What does it matter, so long as you like the picture?
Works great. The pin is spring loaded (you can see how it works by pressing down on the GG cover and slipping it off and then back on).
Looks like it does have a cam (you can just see the image of a piece of a shiny thing through the big hole on the front track).
Andrew, it's fine with a 210mm lens -- only when it gets to a 240mm does it shadow.
Does Zeiss still make LF lenses?
Using the 5x7 extension back on my 4x5 Nagaoka causes shadowing on the long dimension for any lens 240mm or longer. The problem is the rear opening, not the bellows, making it a 5x6 (Paul Strand's...
I'm probably showing my ignorance, but what is that strange-looking apparatus on the front of the camera where a lens is supposed to go?
203mm Kodak Ektar is a great lens for that, and their prices are reasonable.
A response from the Park Service informed me that Segway, electric wheelchairs, etc, can not be used on the Cades Cove road. Twice a weel during the summer, the road is open for a few hours for...
I had one many years ago, and gave up trying to use it. It seemed like a great idea at the time (I've used Nikor tanks for 35mm and 120 over 60 years), but could never get the hang of it without...
TERRIFFICC!
(Thanks, Dakotah.)
Who's Lenny?
Stopped down to f:22-32 I can't tell any difference in sharpness/contrast between my old (plain) Angulon, and a Super Angulon.
This may well be the world's best tripod head, but you'll have to spend another $50 for a 1/4" screw to use it with your camera.
Could it be that the Model 2 was cherry, while the 2D was mahagony? (The "D" meaning dark finish.)
