Just to add a note, stay away from the 3/8x24 fine threaded variety and also stainless steel as it is more prone to gall. I would choose a Grade 8 3/8 x 16.

I have a Lotus 12x20 and my 355 G-Claron covers nicely for WIDE views. I also have a Nikkor Q 450mm f9 that covers. Both are in Copal #3's.
