Re: How are your ART sales this year?

I did 3 outdoor art shows in Toronto (one was the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition) this year and one solo exhibition at a Gallery on Toronto's prestigious Queen St. I did terrible and so did everyone...

    Re: Prepping for show.

...I hate the presentation part, but love the end result. It's a labour of love for sure, where every little detail counts and a well executed presentation can really add power to your photographs.

    Re: Toronto show in May

I might try to make it down there if I can muster the courage to drive 100km. I've been anxious to see your printing/work in person since I moved back to Ontario.

    Re: Plus X Expiration

I'm still using some plus-x from 2003-2006. I'm on the last rolls and I can't tell the difference in base fog from my 2011 stuff.

    Re: Kodak Polymax Fine Art

www.kmcamera.com also has Adox. It's pricey stuff, but I liked it a bit better than ilford when I was in NYC and printing. Not as white of a base as Ilford, so the grain hides a little better. ...

    Re: Switching films...maybe

FP4 is my 100 speed film and looks great in HC-110 -very controlled highlights, good shadow detail, hard to over-develop.

    Re: Flying & Film

    Andy...

I've done a flight from Alberta to Toronto and had ruined some sheets and rolls of 400 Tri-x even though I had it in a lead film x-ray bag. I recommend just buying film while you're down...

  9. Re: If you dropped a warm holder in the snow...

is it worth your time trying to salvage? Personally I'd just shoot it as an experiment and move on to the next holder. Unless of course it's 8x10 or larger. then I'd change my tune.

Re: Is the Yankee tank the Antichrist?

I've been using the Yankee Agi-tank (a different model than this thread?) for about 5 months, since I started Large format. I've had almost 100 negatives run through it. No issues with it at all. ...

    Re: Ottawa photo labs

Ginn was my store of choice when they were up and running. I hear that the store that took over is pretty much the same with the same employees, who are very knowledgable, helpful and skilled in all...

You can count me in for a couple of boxes as well. Maybe even 3.
  13. Re: What is the quality of the Nikkor-W 135 f/5.6 ?

Just one more happy customer. I have about 4 lenses that I have stuck with in 4x5 and the 135 is one of them. Not a huge amount of movement, but a very good performer none-the-less.

Re: Graffiti... protected by copyright laws?

Some of my best friends are graff artists and I would never think in a thousand years that they would care if someone printed photos that their work was involved with. A few reasons for this:

Re: 6x9 film roll back for Wista DX 4x5.

How can they not get the film flatness right on a rollback? Just thinking about it logically the tension should be enough to keep it flat, no?

Thanks a ton for the photos guys. I'm going to browse ebay and see what I can find for backs. I was thinking of getting a graflock back especially for it, but the cambo seems to be very flat...

I can't view that link. Could you please email me the photos or text of what you're sending? j_r_starr@hotmail.com.

Also, won't the back wreak my ground glass or destroy my springs?
