And I thought it may be interesting for LFPF members. Actually it is not large format...
Yes, it was Lenswork. And the photographer's name is Robb Kendrick.
Thank you!
It was a couple of years ago, when I saw some excellent examples of daguerrotype photographs in a periodical publication. Contemporary portraits of cowboys, but made on tintypes.
The problem is that...
I never used Efke large format films, only 35mm format. Just wanted to experiment a little bit and bought a few rolls. On the last roll developed in Pyrocat HD (didn't have anything else at the...
Ken, I’m far away from making conclusion that 5x7 format can’t beat DSLR. It is just much more difficult to make a good picture with LF camera and the possibility for making mistakes is much...
Thank you for your comments and clarifications, everybody!

A place photographed to death. But I couldn't resist. How it is called BTW, cliche or something like that?
4x5 Fuji Velvia 100.
Yes, it may look sharp here at this small size, but I would expect from 5x7 format much more in terms of quality (sharpness mainly), than from DSLR. And if I enlarge this picture on my screen, it...

Cataract Creek, San Juan Mountains.
Ansco 5x7 camera, Tele-Optar 15".
I still don't know why I dragged heavy camera and even more heavy wooden tripod to this location. Maybe I was hoping...
Vaughn, I appreciate your comments. Thank you. Although I am a bloody damn amateur (BDA) and make pictures mostly for myself, I like to know what other people think about my work.

Well, since I 've already figured out how to attach images, maybe another picture from Colorado vacations.
Taken with orange filter...
I'm glad somebody likes it. Yes, it appears to be oversharpened here, original full res. image looks better.

Maybe this time it will show properly.

Taken with red filter and 135mm lens on Rd 149 to Gunnison, Co.
Sloan Lake in American Basin, Rockies.
Taken with Tachihara, 135mm lens on Shanghai 4x5 film, with orange filter.
This was taken with Tachihara on Shanghai 4x5 film. I remember having extreme difficulties with adjusting plane of focus on a cloudy late afternoon with a slow 210mm f/6.8 Caltar. Taking two shots...
Thank you for your kind words.
I'm thinking however, that it still doesn't approach the craftmanshift/art of the masters.
Taken with Wollensak Tele-Raptar 254mm.
I had to wait quite long, until the wind stopped blowing for a short while. Almost gave up.
4x5, 240mm, f=22. Maximum possible bellows extension on my Tachihara/Wista or whatever it is. Besides that, I had to crop it slightly.
I like fog, a right amount of fog is always good for photography. Well, maybe not always, but most of the time.
Lake Michigan, early spring. 4x5 camera, 150mm, f=32.
Some streaking is visible in...

Nice to see, that large format is becoming popular in Poland.
As I'm planning to return to my homeland some day (with my cameras of course), I don't want to look...
4x5, quite miniature in comparison to some photo equipment I've seen on your site.
Thanks Armin, I'm glad that somebody likes this picture. The girl on a photograph wasn't quite enthusiastic when she saw it. But it's not easy to satisfy a teenager. That sharp, directed light from...
This was taken with Heliar 210mm. Aperture was set around 8, as far as I remember. The slight glow in highlights was produced by Tiffen SFX filter, not by Heliar itself.
In fact, I can not detect...
Somewhere in Canyonlands.
Don't remember what lens was used (probably ancient, heavily scratched Ilex Acugon 90mm/f=8). Aperture was set to 22, which seems not to be enough to get everything in...
You will miss the possibility to tilt down the wide lens. And this is very important camera movement as it comes to lanscape. The front standard will stay on inside tracks. Perhaps the bellows...
Taken with an old Tachihara/Wista and Sironar 240mm.
But at this resolution, looks like cell camera snapshot.
Michigan, Rodenstock 135mm N, f=32.
Anybody knows, how long WD2D+ may live in 3/4 full bottles of stock solution?
A couple of days ago I developed a few sheets of Shanghai and one roll of Efke 50 in WD2D+. Negatives are weaker, than...
Maybe this time those two pictures will go through.
Finally found some time to get it done.
I decided to solder the two parts. Any mechanical work would be difficult, since the parts are very small and the whole mechanism would have to be...
Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm already giving up the idea of simply gluing the two elements together.
I am firmly convinced, that members of this forum can find a good answer to any question related to LF photography or related to LF only partially.
Now I have such a question, related to LF in...
I do not know, why I did not think about using camera movements to do it without the need for any cropping.
Aaaah, so it is not a Magic Lantern lens. And not from XIX century.
I remember, that there was quite a lot of exactly the same looking lenses for sale on Ebay about a year ago. And they keep...
That comment made me feel better. Thanks, Jim. I still value my hair quite a lot.
Thank you for replying to my post.
I use this lens on 5x7 camera, but usually had to crop a little bit. Not because of light fall off, but total blur at the edges. Barrel diameter is about 2 and 7/8...
What may have been an intended use of this particular lens?
Originally it did not have aperture slot. The slot was cut out just recently. I thought, that I was buying a magic lantern lens. But I...
I processed a couple of Shanghai film sheets in WD2D+, which is also a pyro developer. Results were good, highlights very well controlled, that effect I had in mind when selecting WD2D+. General...
Two trees from Canyonlands. Dead, unfortunately.
