  1. Re: Leafscan 45, Sprintscan 45, Artixscan 2500: hi-res "desktop" scanner recommendati

For your stated need, I'd look at an Imacon, but I don't know that you'd find one in your price range.
  2. Re: Any ideas for: architectural/wideangle/shift/night shots?

4x5 with a 90mm lens is fairly wide, and many good (relatively inexpensive) 90's are on the market with good coverage, giving you room for movements.

That plus a box of Provia 400 (slide film,...

    survey completed.

I wish some fields were multiple choice... but there ya go. :)
  4. Re: Arca-Swiss QR plate for Cambo Legend 4x5

RRS makes nice Arca type plates as well.

Which model Legend do you have? I seem to recall them swapping out the base mount style along the way, one was rectangular, and one was circular...

Re: Linotype hell SAPHIR : is it worth it?

Personally, I don't think you'll gain anything here over the current run of Epson flats. It will just take more time and fiddling and space to get equivalent results.

    I think compared to your...

    Re: Digital back for 4x5"

I should have clarified. Single shot solutions are limited. There are stitching solutions for both dslrs and MFDBs, but if I'm going to bother with that, I might as well use a scanning back (with the...

    Re: Digital back for 4x5"

Plus the massive crop factor. I cannot imagine being able to focus a 24mm lens with a 4x5 camera in order to get a wide angle with a dSLR.

However, for macro and longer lenses, it's a useful tool...
  8. Re: 65mm, 75mm or 90mm for 4x5 architecture?

    I'd guess 80% of my 4x5 archi work is with a 90mm. I have a 75mm, but it's much more specialty use.

Re: Redux 4x5 Back for Horseman 45FA

Ken - how odd - I would have thought they'd stay modular rather than having to double up accessories from the L series. Thanks for the additional info. Hopefully from all our rambling, the OP has...
  10. Re: Need color transparency scanner advice

the V-750 is fantastic for the price - and for many print sizes is more than enough from LF film. But won't replace drum scans for high res, big prints.
  11. Re: Lee shade vs Arca Swiss Compendium Shade

You'd end up needing at least two, if not three of the Lee hoods (wide angle, and normal, at least) to cover the lens range, plus all of the rings.

Personally, given that, it's a bit of a hassle....

Re: Redux 4x5 Back for Horseman 45FA

Of course, one question I have, is doesn't the 45FA already have a spring back on it? You shouldn't need the connecting frame.

    edit: found your previous post.

Many of the backs for horseman,...

Re: Redux 4x5 Back for Horseman 45FA

Ok - from my old BH catalog.

    4x5 Groundglass - Spring Back (23708)

Requires 4x5 connecting frame (23707) to mount onto main frame. (which, I believe is what you have)

    Re: Digital back for 4x5"

You can get any number of digital medium format backs and adapter plates to them. Drawbacks, aside from price, are higher resolution requirements from your lenses to take advantage of the sensors,...

Re: Redux 4x5 Back for Horseman 45FA

I believe so, yes. Horseman makes a spring back that just clips right into the standard horseman connecting frame.

I'll see if I can get the part number for you when I get home.
