    Re: Film questions

Wow. I just read through this thread in complete amazement. There are a few solid suggestions here and the rest is mostly bull crap without any objective testing / knowledge/ experience behind it....
  2. Re: A philosophical question about the # of lenses in your pack

For me it is #1 though I could certainly make due with just one lens.

I carry 4 lenses with my 4x5 kit. 90, 150, 210, 300. Wide, normal, long, longer. I figure that if I can't do it with one of...
  3. Re: Dark Slide: fully removed or partially in?

Those are really nice if they still have good septums. Some people swear by them. They hold 6 sheets by the way.
  4. Re: Dark Slide: fully removed or partially in?

SLIGHTLY off topic... but knowing we have the same camera I would caution one other thing to watch for with film holders. Once you close the bail arm on the camera with a film holder inserted there...

    Re: Pyrocat HD in slosher

    Kirk,
I also found I was getting slightly over developed corners when using my slosher tray from Photographer's Formulary.

    Re: Merg Ross interview/LensWork

I thoroughly enjoyed Merg's interview, in fact I listened to it twice. It's part musings from a working artist and part history, a fantastic interview.
  12. Re: Uneven development Fp4+ (8x10) Pyrocat HD

I also struggled getting consistent results using this method with Pyrocat and FP4+, Tri-X, BPF200 and J&C Pro100. I eventually gave up and moved on to other developing methods. I know consistent...

Re: Toyo Field Camera 45A Lens Boards

Toyo makes a 12mm recessed board and used to make a 25mm recessed board. I have both. My Nikkor SW 90mm f4.5 lives in the 12mm recessed version and makes using movements a little easier than it...

It changes my sleep schedule! I try to develop film in the very early morning. I cool my distilled water stop and fixer in the freezer... run the ac... the same for printing but I do less printing...
  16. Re: Interior Architectural Photography Resource

    Merg,
Thank you! I appreciate that very much. I will check my library, I also found it fairly reasonable on Amazon. (I was specifically hoping that you and Kirk would check in. =) Thanks again,...

    Re: Favorite aperture?

As far as 4x5 goes, probably f32 with my 150mm, 210mm & 300mm lenses although I'll use f22-f64 as required. Probably f22 with my 90mm although I'll use f16-f45 as required.
