  1. Re: Kodak technical data sheets for Verichrome Pan (VP) & High Speed Infrared (HIE) f

I had heard that the particular grain size and distribution was such that it was too difficult to get an even dispersion across sheet film sizes.
  2. Kodak technical data sheets for Tech Pan (TP 2415) film

I found a stack of Kodak Technical Data publications that I had printed out 15-20 years ago, so I'm going to scan and post them here for reference.

Here is publication P-255 dated Feb. 2000, for...

  6. Need help identifying a couple of Linhof compendium lens hoods + parts

I found a box of several Linhof compendiums that I bought for some forgotten project. Can someone help identify which cameras they go to please?

The first is the type that I used for my...
  7. Is the nominal shutter speed listed on the Calument tester correct?

I finally, *finally* found my Calumet shutter speed tester. I tested some lenses and noticed that the shutter speed decimal equivalents on the label are wrong. It begins okay (1=1.000, 1/2=0.500,...
  8. Any helical focusing mounts made for a Copal 3?

As the title says -- I'm like to mount my 150 Xenotar on a helical for use with my Cambo Wide. Buying something off the shelf would be much much easier...
  9. Re: I need help regarding an older style non-tilting ARCA Swiss function carrier

It's a well-known secret that the older pre-F rails were typically but not always a tad wider than the F rails. Some pre-F function carriers work fine with F rails and vice versa, but some pre-F...
  10. Re: Goerz serial numbers (post-breakup) question re: 1 million serial numbers

Here is the lens, front and back. It looks to be a barrel lens that was mounted into a shutter (based on the difficulty, the workmanship, and the included caps, I would guess Steve Grimes). So if...
  11. Goerz serial numbers (post-breakup) question re: 1 million serial numbers

This is both a general question and one about a particular lens. And if I've misstated something, please, please correct it for future reference.

  13. Re: lightweight wide-ish 5x7 lens recommendations

133 Cooke Series VIIb is wonderful and will front-mount in a Copal 1. Hard to find and harder to find coated, but worth searching for.
  14. Re: Question about lens board for Technikardan 45

KEH is your best bet. I always prefer Linhof boards; new or used they fit the best. I have had very good luck also with name-brand copies (Nikon, Toyo, Wista). Anything by other than these four...

  17. Re: How to screw in tripod socket bushing without splitting the wood?

I use the EZ-Lock variety sold by McMaster-Carr (the ones made for metal). I tap the wood with a sharp tap of the right size, c'sink the hole, blow out the dust, and epoxy the insert in place. The...

I've bought a few lenses which have had homemade but very nice aperture scales, with a clear plastic on top of a piece of thick paper (with the printing) with self-adhesive backing. How do I make...

That's a nice hobby to have. Back when I was a grad student and could sneak out of the lab and down to the machine shop and make custom camera parts (mostly odd-format backs for Arca and Toho). But...

  26. Re: 75 Zeiss Biogon mil. surplus barrel lens - sketch for mounting into Copal 1 shutt

Very nice to see! I used to have two of these lenses (from KS-87B aerial cameras; mine were by Pacific Optical) but could never figure out how to easily mount it into a shutter.

    Regarding the...
  27. 75 Zeiss Biogon mil. surplus barrel lens - sketch for mounting into Copal 1 shutter

    Re: 199/4.5 Dagor-S design type?

I guess I had it in my head that it was a double Gauss, but you could be right as well. The mechanical design is such that you can only pull out the lens elements by unscrewing the trim ring around...
  31. Re: Ebony lens box modified with sliding lid

If you have a table saw (which I don't), then probably yes, although the foam does give a bit of vibration and sound damping so the lensboards don't rattle around.

Here are my modifications to an Ebony box (see http://www.badgergraphic.com/opencart/index.php?route=product/product&path=2_17_117&product_id=3490). I bought it used from a Forum member (two boxes...

    Re: linhof finders

    These are wonderful finders.

On the old black anodized dual 4x5/5x7 finders, the 5x7 scale went from 121 - 500mm as Bob noted.

Linhof never (correct me if I'm wrong, Bob) made a "brown" finder....

Cambo was all into modularity and reusing parts, so it's quite possible that the grip came from or was adapted from another Cambo model.
