Hi,
I'd like to take a road trip from WA state to BC Canada. What is the customs protocol for exposed LF film when re-entering the US??? Any suggestions??
Thanks,
Bob
Hi,
Some excellent comments on paper types, developer and toning. My experience with Bergger VC FB WA semi-gloss developed in Ansco 130 has been very good.

Hi,
You've gotten a lot of good suggestions and I'll add another. I get nitrile gloves from VWR, rated to resist aviation fuel and still thin enough for tray processing. Item number 40101-350,...
Hi,
Am glad that you found that not only is the photo scene in the NW very active, film still plays a big part of what happens here. While I live in Kelso WA, Portland is where I find a community...
Now I'm confused??
If the final volume is 1000ml then all calculations should be for this amount instead of 800ml??

Does the bulb need to be replaced or some other type of repair. I ordered a replacement bulb for my Aristo 5x7 through Louise Kessler last fall and didn't have any problems installing the tube. ...

They have an led light source, I was very tempted to get the VC light source. Discouraged by the price.

Kienzle Optics
They make an LED head for split printing with B&A papers.
Thanks for all of the questions and answers. Will be aware of reciprocity and focus when trying this out. Though the experience will be different for urban and landscape. Seems as though...
Yeh, I just printed it this afternoon, looking forward to seeing how it works. Bob
Thanks Tim, will also try to find some information online.
Thanks Dan,
That will also be interesting to try.

Hi Heroique,
Thanks for replying!! I plan to be in the landscape away from city lights. Am assuming that with a lens with the widest aperture of f/9 or f/5.6 it will still be a long exposure. ...
Hi,
I'm interested in doing some night shots with LF. Are there any suggestions for the length of exposure, iso or developing that would help with getting some stars??
Thanks,
bob
Hi,
Is the light source large enough to cover 4x5?? From your description this is m first question.
Bob
Do you have any guidelines that can be used when developing old film or paper??
Thanks
Hi,
I use AR glass o top and plain glass on the bottom, both are made from Schott glass for 5x7.
Here is a link for 120 conversion.

And another 12/220 conversion.

Hi,
This link seemed it may spark some interest on the forum. I haven't any idea whether it's been discussed in another thread.

I would assume that it could be used with any enlarger as long as the lens board would fit. Mine is used on a Durst 138s for 5x7.
This thread has taken an interesting direction- split printing. At first I didn't pay attention to the order of low contrast and high contrast filters. I would make a series of vertical exposures...
Haven't had any Bosco in ages. It's still made??
Hi Leigh,
That is also great to know!!
Thanks,
Bob
Hi vinney,
THANKS, that is the article I loaned out and then it was misplaced.
Do you know of anyone who has experience with these filters??
Have seen the Rosco filters at B&H, will check to...
Hi,
Am curious, can Rosco filters be used for multi-grade printing on Multi-grade paper??
If so, which ones??
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Hi Jay,
This helps a lot to understand how to use OA. To recap-
If using sodium metabisulfite for part A then 200gms of sodium carbonate in part B resulting in a 1:2.5:100 dilution.

Darkroom. Scanning only for digital distribution.
Hi Jay,
The working solution is 1;500ml, so I'll need to mix up liters if not gallons of part B [666gms of carbonate per liter] for a developing session??

Hi Jay,
If you are using 300ml of working solution for a roll of 35mm film, is 0.6ml of OA stock the correct amount instead of 0.3??
Bob
Do you make them for 5x7?
