Thanks, Jim. I was shooting toward a mountainside.
I was reorganizing my film files and ran across this one from March 2009. It is from the Merced river canyon, outside Yosemite NP. I scanned it up this weekend. Morning light was just popping into...

Excellent. Great depth to this one and it plays quite a trick with the eye. Beautifully seen and captured.
I am not sure what it is, but the LF site often slows down Firefox to the point it is pretty much locked up. It is the only site I visit that does it to my machine. I have a Mac Pro. Until recently,...
You may want to research Ilford being out of business. I believe the company that went out of business is completely unrelated to the company that produces Gold Fibre Silk.
I am also a fan of Canson Fibre Rag. Very similar look to Gold Fibre Silk, but I find it much easier to work with.
Very well done, Daniel.
Yes, I did use some front swing.
I totally agree, Michael. I think too many people get hung up on equipment or some technique. You have to learn how to see and from there, develop a style and an eye that works for you. It takes...
This works well. The colors add to an empty, stark mood of the nice and simple composition. Very nicely done.
This is cool. The bug eye lights give it a very "living being" look.
Thanks to Pretson, Aruns andJeRuFo for the comments on my image of the bare aspens. Much appreciated.
This is another image I made during that trip. On my way home from central UT, I camped in...
I was on a camping trip in central Utah a week ago. Some trees were prime, most were well past.
There were deer hunters everywhere. I made sure that neither my dog nor I ventured too far away...
Very well done, Kirk. The center one really does it for me. Beautiful.
A beauty, Jewan. Great mood and real nice scene. Good thing the light did not turn on you while the dog owner was being inconsiderate. :)
Spectacular clouds and scene!! Beautiful, Kirk.
Beautiful! The image has a real nice painterly look, too.
Thanks. The comments are very much appreciated!!
This is another one from Utah, Xmas 2005, scanned this weekend.
Arca Swiss 4x5
Velvia 100 converted to B&W.
This is another from the archives I never scanned until this weekend. It goes back to Christmas, 2005. It is the canyon in Zion NP. I like it for its feel of the season, autumn come and gone.
Since I have not been out on a photo trip in some time, I have been occasionally looking through the files at film I never scanned.
I am amazed at how my perspective on film changes over times....
It looks like a painting! Excellent abstract - great shapes and colors. It should make a gorgeous print.
Thanks guys! The comments are very much appreciated.
Another excellent image. I usually see this perspective with golden aspen leaves, but the bare trees work beautifully here.
As I sit in the sweltering heat of a Sept. California heatwave, I went through some old film and came across this late winter Yosemite scene I had never scanned. It is from March, 2006. It is the...
Very, very nice!! Wonderful tones and subject.
Excellent!!!! I really like this image a lot. Great tones and patterns.
Outstanding!! Man, you are on a roll.
Very cool image!
Contrast is working great for me. I really like this one.
Another cool abstract! I would not have any idea what it is, nor do I need to in order to like it.
Cool image, Ken! Great patterns, textures and tones.
Is this rocks or stones? :)
Alex, you are holding your own with this one. :) Really well done. I love the perspective, the path to infinity.
Nice series, but this one really captivated me. Excellent.
Beauty, Alex!!!! I love it.
