Hi there Mark. I had a 480mm Nikkor process lens that had a similar slot for filters. It didn't make any difference to the image when used as a view camera lens.

Jack, Brian, the article in Photo Techniques was from the March/April 1996 edition by Kim Kirkpatrick. I think he said that the difference between the two was akin to the difference between jazz...
Hi Pete, I had noticed that when composing with my non-dominant left eye, I tend to compose with lots of interest in the foreground. With my right eye, I concentrate on things in the distance....
Pete, since the part of my brain which is nearest the gg doesn't work anyway, I suggest you don't use the lens anymore and send it to me. That'll be two pints I owe you. Dave.
Does the 210 g claron cover 8x10?. My catalogue says up to 5x7

I think there is some confusion here. Hp4 is surely not still available. Fp4 in someone's fridge maybe.
With the recent demise of more lf film, perhaps this publication could use it's clout to badger the film makers about what we lf film users can expect to lose and / or gain in the near future.
If low budget is your priority, then as has been said many times before, spend the extra cash on lenses that will stay with you for a long time. How many responses say I wish I had never sold that...
I'm pretty sure that this won't make you feel any better but an old Nikon dealer I knew once told me that he had an old 600mm 5.6 that had a crack and a hole that you could poke your finger through...
I recently posted a question asking for advice about a replacement light source for a cold cathode head for an old Lines and Jones enlarger that I had ordered b ut had been broken in transit. The...

If I wanted to photograph these "split hairs" which lens manufacturer's product would produce the most hairs split per mm.
