Re: Where to sell my darkroom equipment?

These days, it's sometimes a challenge to find someone who wants it for free.

Re: Motorized rocker for tray developing

Back in the 1970's I purchased a home made rocker for sheet film. It had three trays for 4x5 film. It moved slow enough that the fluid flowed to the end, then sort of splashed the other way, thus...

    Re: Omaha

If you have any interest in railroading, there's an excellent U.P. Museum in Council Bluffs, and there's a U.P. Boy along with a DD-40 Diesel on display just off I-80 in Omaha next to the river.
  4. Re: what exactly was modified by ZONE VI in the pentax spot meter?

Seems that I remember them being promoted as having a filter added that corrected the light hitting the sensor relative to b&w film, along with some baffles to reduce internal reflections.

Re: PhotoShop - time to upgrade

I signed up for the subscription and really like it. I believe they have decided to keep it at $10 per month permanently. I don't allow them to take it out of my account, I let them charge a credit...

Re: New Epson V800, V850 flatbed scanners

I've been going to buy a 750 for some time now, but kept putting it off. For once, procrastination paid off.

Love the photo you posted Kirk.
  8. Is this a resurrection of the old Light Impressions

I received a catalog today from a company named Archival Museum Supplies based in San Diego. It looks just like the old Light Impressions catalogs with most of the same things in it.

    I'm thinking...

    Re: A home-made enlarger stand.

I had to chuckle when I studied your photo. You see, it's a lot like my first darkroom back some 40 years ago. The only difference is that I didn't have the skill to build a nice stand like you...

  12. Re: Adobe is going to only sell subscription based Photoshop

This move by Adobe will be watched very closely by other big players. I would think Microsoft would already be thinking of it as a way to get more money out of products such as MS Office.
  13. Re: Adobe is going to only sell subscription based Photoshop

Here's a company that makes outstanding software at very reasonable prices. I've used several pieces of it for years, including their excellent Web Design software. Their PhotoPlus is pretty good....

Re: Damn stripes on my negatives

How about eliminating or confirming if it's a holder issue by simply processing a sheet of film right out of the box that has never been in a holder. Maybe that's already been done and I missed it...

Re: Experience with Adams and Strand

While attending the 1975 Ansel Adams Workshop in Yosemite, we had a gathering in the gym of the high school there. I think it was a high school, perhaps some other school.

    What was notable to me...

The great thing about this camera is that, according to the seller, it has "awesome movements". Let Deardorff try to beat that.

    Re: Photographing From Parking Garages

Wear a hard hat and when a guard shows up start looking at cracks and photographing them. Tell him to walk lightly on this section, it may no longer hold the weight of both of us.

    Re: Question regarding displaying photographs

I have only used standard acrylic for framing and displaying b&w prints since the 1970's. I feel the green tint of glass ruins a b&w print.
