    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

Yaaay! Although I still have a box and a half left of 4x5, I went and bought two more. My wife is gonna kill me!

I've relatively close, but sadly not that close enough to go up there easily. It would have been great to see them in person!

Well, I am ready to start shooting again with the Harman - has anyone worked with the RC product though? I saw some gorgeous work done with RC. One photographer I corresponded with and whose work I...
  4. Polaroid MP4 reflex viewer on Speed Graphic?

Just wondering if anyone has modified the Polaroid reflex viewer to the speed graphic. Do you still use it, or have you reverted back to dark cloth or some other solution?

My problem is that the shadows are completely dark and devoid of any detail. Maybe I'm exposing for the wrong highlights! I'm loathe to experiment now, with this stuff so difficult to obtain for me,...

    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

Have you been able to locate more? I managed to order 2 boxes of 4x5 from freestyle a few weeks ago but a quick check shows that they are on backorder now. B&H and Adorama are still on backorder too....

    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

I'm really having the worst time metering for this stuff. I'm using my DSLR for it, I guess maybe reflective is not the best way to go. Can anyone recommend an external meter?

    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

Just checked the usual suspects - Adorama and B&H, seems like they are all on backorder for the 4x5's at least.

That would be unfortunate if the rumour was true, I just used up the last of my...

    Re: Harman Direct Positive Images

Just wondering, when metering, what do you expose for? The highlights or the shadows? Or both and bracket? I'm particularly interested in how Bracan might have exposed his wonderful portraits.
  15. Re: Sound Card Shutter speed tester - improving accuracy at high speeds?

Thanks for answering, I'm using Audacity, but I've also used Adobe Audition to measure the electrical pulses with similar results. I also tried 3 different soundcards, although they were all...
  16. Sound Card Shutter speed tester - improving accuracy at high speeds?

I built a shutter speed tester based on the really simple circuit that's floating out there (like this one - http://static.photo.net/attachments/bboard/004/0044cW-10288684.pdf). For the...

Nice examples! That's the first thing I googled - 3200 ISO 4x5, only to find it just isn't out there. I remember reading about the 3000B being discontinued. Maybe New55 will take up the gauntlet, but...

B&W 4x5 film for indoor sports?

I'd like to shoot some gymnastics at EV7. On my digital, this translates to 1/200 f/4.5 ISO 3200.
Can anyone recommend a film that I can push to 3200 or even 1600 and does well?

Re: Negative damage using the Taco method

That's a very good question, how dark DOES a room need to be? Can you have a just a little light coming through? I've always thought it was supposed to photon free, but really what are the tolerances?

Thanks for that, I guess it is not so bad. Put the film in, put on the filled cap. Agitate in the light. I'll check it out! By the way, how much developer do you used for a 4x5 tube?

Negative damage using the Taco method

Hi everyone, I decided to take the plunge and develop using a daylight tank, rather than the tray method.

    I bought a Paterson 4 tank, it can hold 2 35's or 1 120.
I found a couple of bands that...

  36. Re: Rendering quality when shooting 120 on 4x5 camera

  39. Re: Rendering quality when shooting 120 on 4x5 camera

  40. Re: Rendering quality when shooting 120 on 4x5 camera
