    got a iq 3 scanned tiff from. lab. these marks are very confusing. have you had this problem before?

    Hi folks

    have you had all these problems in digitalizing the negs? I used Imacon X5 for scanning and spent at lease an hour to clean up every single image.

    wax? scratches are everywhere. Am I being unpractical to think of replacing the glass? have you heard of people doing it?
    How would you wax it?
    any tutorial I can find online to give it a try?

    ya, i used medium sharpen and dust removal tools.
    will try another scan without these settings

    I think you are right. Negative looks underexposed. I had no idea on the connection between underexposure & grain

    I was given a beat-up Epson V750 scanner. As I started scanning 4x5s, the scratches on the glass drove me crazy.

    I left them in the basement, but it picked up a lot of dusts. How do you solve the problem?

    The line isn't on the negative. but appears on the scanned file.

    I am using a trusted lab, but I want to play safe.
    I think I might be stupidly give them the film holders vs. have them stacked in the box.

    i took 2 shots on the same spot.
    The other shot doesnt have the light leak.

    But I remember the sun was hitting the camera. That shouldn't be the issue, i was thinking the sun might hit the film...

    this might sound cheesy, but for the important shots, do you separate them and develop them separately in a different time in the lab?

    In case the lab screw up all the important ones at a time....
