well...weirdly enough I just picked up one of those also. Appears to be basically an aperture and two elements. Does the photo help any?

Sorry for the late reply here. Were two reducing backs made for the 5x7 Tech V? I've found one, but the guy states "it is the Shallow back that allows you to focus with the 5x7 in wide angle mode...
