    Re: I'm a lens designer

On a somewhat OT note, does anyone know whether Wista still manufactures Shanel 5 shutters? Those seem pretty durable.

    300/530 convertible in Copal #3

Here's a (presumably) rarely seen lens:

    COLOR-TAMRON 6.8/300 14/530

I wonder what's the coverage of this one - around 87 degrees and less if using only one element for the 530mm length?

    Re: Affordable Jobo Source

Not that easy, but doable. Instead of agitating, you just roll it back and forth on a table, making sure the drum makes a little over two complete revolutions. The key is finding a spare lid and...

Re: Can I convert my F2 into an 8x10?

Modularity of Sinar doesn't necessarily mean high cost per individual item. I was lucky to get 10.75" rear frame, 8x10 standard, rear P carrier with minor damage, front P carrier with even smaller...

    Re: 5x7 color film availability?

Directly from Agfa-Gevaert in Belgium. They're a little slow replying to mails, but will eventually send you their list of overstock films and papers, with no minimum order quantity for most items.

    Re: 5x7 color film availability?

None I found, but there are tons of examples of the 400 ASA version, X400 - repackaged as "Rollei Digibase CN200". Whether the difference is just less grain in favour of X100, I don't know.

    Re: EFKE/ADOX PL100 Hardening

In the last year and a half I developed cca. 120 sheets of 8x10" EFKE 100 in a Jobo 3004. Pre-soaked to wash off anti-halation layer, souped in Adonal and fixed in Fomafix. Not a single scratch.

  12. Re: Surprised at how good Mamiya lenses are.

Also, enlarging a 6x4,5 negative to, say, 30x40" will require a Rodagon-G or G-Componon lens, if you want utter sharpness. Not really so for a 4x5", and especially not 8x10" negative. The 80/2.8 I...

  22. Re: Building a 18x24 camera back and ground glass frame

Thanks. You could try first building a cone-shaped extension from 235mm square to about 254mm square and then work on that, using the holder you have as a guide for dimensions.
