Jesus H - I didn't realize the size of that lens. That thing is huge! Remember to lift with the knees, not the back.... I look forward to seeing what it does for you!
104194This was taken with a 16" Euryscop f4.5 on 8x10. I usually like Petzvals too, but I'm really liking the look of this Euryscop.
Gorgeous portrait Alex! Mind if I ask about what type of lighting you're using? I'm curious about how you're getting a 5 second exposure.
97120 I'm relatively new to wet plate but falling madly in love with the process. 8x10 alumitype with 12" Darlot.
Nice work Gary!!
Ed - just 16x20? No 20x24?? :) That's a beautiful image!
Great to hear Gary - I'll make sure to roll out to Sooke and check the show!

I'm just learning how to do wet plate collodion. This is the first decent portrait I've done so far. I do rather like this process.....

I love living on the coast, but some of my best shooting trips were in Alberta. Jasper Nat. Park. Writing-on-Stone Park. Badlands/Dinosaur Park. All amazing places. Pretty hard to go wrong. It...
These days the only kodak film I use is Tri-X. The rest is Ilford. But I gotta say - if it goes, its going to be hard to replace Tri-X...... Lets hope some vestige of Kodak remains to produce its...
The only paper I've been able to get in Canada was Arches Platine from Wallacks in Ottawa (www.wallacks.com) but they don't seem to have it right now.
I've been ordering from B&S and bergger.com...
I agree with Jim, I keep my platinum prints in archival boxes with no paper between them and have never had a problem.
Make that ONLY (!!!) $40. WTF? Oh well, I guess I'm kinda hooped on this one....
Thanks!! I'll see if I can track it down from B&H.

I just bought a Sironar N 150mm lens off a friend and the little piece that the cable release threads into on the lens is stripped. Does anybody have an idea where I can find this little part? I've...
I've been scanning my pmk negs for ages with silverfast and have no problem. I scan them as 48bit rgb files. They tend to have a strong warm colour cast but in PS I convert them to grayscale.
Barry got it right - I wanted her face in the sharpest area of the lens and when I moved it back to encompass more of the frame I preferred this composition.
I haven't posted in ages! Here's a recent shot with my 6" Darlot on 4x5 with Tri-x.
I love those images Kerik!!
Thank you very much Monty - I do appreciate it!!
lovely cyanotype!!
Here's one with my newish 5" Darlot on 4x5 film (FP4).
I had a similar problem printing digital negatives on Pictorico. Try using the manual front feed slot. It doesn't use the same rollers and it solved the problem for me. Because Pictorico is so...
Congratulations Merg! I'm waiting for my copy to arrive.
Thanks Murray!
Greetings Murray, from the South Coast of BC!
Okay, it looks like things have settled down here, so hopefully its safe to post again!

Thanks for the kind words - they are much appreciated!!
I'm working through my backlog of sheet film from the summer. Here's another one shot in the Hoh Valley of Olympic National Park with...
I've been known to shoot the occasional nude.....
Well that sucks!!!! I'm shocked at the loss of TMY, but I also know I haven't bought any lately due to the cost...
Ha! Greg, when I get my first show in NYC I'll be sure to let you know. I'm thinking of a new series of impressionistic HDR images you might like......
Thanks everyone - even you Kerik! Greg, I'd like a show in NYC too. Any suggestions for where?
Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know that I have a show of new work printed in Platinum at Luz Gallery here in Victoria BC. Its on until Nov 28 if you're in the area.

I can't speak for 120, but if its any help, I process Efke 25 in 4x5 sheets for 5.5 minutes, at the standard PMK dilution (1:2:100).
I've been using Efke 25 in both 4x5 and 5x7, processed in a Jobo expert drum on a Beseler motor base. I rate it @ ISO 16 and give it about 5.5 minutes @ 70 degrees F. Works well for me!
Okay, I'll start! Polaroid 665 with my 6" Darlot.
I'd be in for at least another box too!
Hi Raymond,
What you are seeing on your 3800 is that right now, the cartridge for Photo black shows as a series of diagonal dots. This means that the matte black ink is currently turned on. If...
