most excellent!
excellent, thanks Frank. unfortunately some of mine just came off, i tried carefully to remove the shellac leaving these covers in place and a majority have :)
i'll go down the 'minimal ambroid'...
My Technika's original grey covering (now an off-colour stained brown) was peeling off everywhere and quiet scuffed and poor looking, so I've ordered a new covering from Camera Leather in black. I...

excellent, thanks! i had guessed '67 judging by other serial numbers here, was close.
date of manufacture for a Super Tech V - 2122108 please.
thanks Bob! :)
If you have a way to measure the distance from a sheet of film in a film holder to the edge of the film holder accurately, this distance should be the same as the distance from the ground glass...
just a quick straight-up portrait test using the Linhof multifocal VF (older style).

i traded the equivalent of about $600ish of 35mm camera gear for a Super Tech V that needed a little work. out my way they're all way overpriced, and shipping from overseas would cost a fortune...
yes, that's what i have measured and it is accurate at any point along the edges. so i would assume then that everything should be ok, i'll do some tests today. as for cracking the GG; the two black...
i live in Australia, any camera CLA will run upwards of $500.00 not including any parts that are required and that doesn't include the shipping to and from either
it would likely cost $180.00+...
thanks, a CLA is well out of my budget for the camera at present - and finding a service centre locally will be impossible and will easily cost more than replacing this camera two times over. there...
Hi,
I have Linhof Technika V I picked up in part of a camera trade. The camera came without the ground glass fitted, and a new ground glass the owner had just received.
I have installed the...
Milsons Point, walking there from Blues Point Rd down past Luna Park :)
i.e. moving the front lens standard, for effect, to gain a desired image effect.
lens board finally arrived for my Technika V, shot a photo quickly walking to the station after work playing with movements handheld is a little tricky.

cool, thanks. i'll look in to it. i think i'll sell my 4x5 mono-rail (i don't have any studio lighting anymore so doubt i will use it) and my 360mm and 180mm lenses, keep the 150mm and pick up a...
this is my first LF shot, I have posted this elsewhere on here i believe. i have shyed away from large format and been concentrating on 35mm, but these big negatives... i'm currently looking at some...
that's lovely, i really like this.
Thanks, I loved shooting Across 100 in medium format. I only have a box of Foma 100, which is not well suited to long exposures. When I purchase some more film, I'll check out Across 100 in 4x5.
seascape / tidal pool. first landscape with the 4x5, and first long exposure shot... ever, i think? Of the 4 negatives i shot this was the only one with anything on it! i really do need to read up...
another 'band' photograph. when you're given 5 minutes in the dark and you've forgotten the lead(s) for your second light, you try to focus as best you can and just blast whatever light you do have...
strip softbox, verticle, just above camera.
shot for an underground music magazine article. Cambo 4x5 monorail, 150mm F5.6 Symmar-S then cropped a little to suit layout. Kodak Portra 400NC, some light colour treatments in post.

Also, regarding software - I use VueScan and find it to be the best software option available of those that I have tried (once you get used to using it).
i would also be up for this.
i scan on an Epson V700 which I find to be suitable for 120 film and larger. I have a Better Scanning holder with ANR glass for medium format negs, and the images scan beautifully, better than the...
thanks guys, i enjoyed the Norman Rockwell reference. I have always been a fan of his illustrations (and photographs, for that matter).
first post, and first 4x5 image! i picked up a Cambo 4x5 and assorted lenses and accessories last weekend, am really enjoying these large negatives:
