No, but I use my JML 8 1/4 f8 lens on my 8x10 regularly.

The vignetting was done in the darkroom, not because of the lens.

Both photos were pretty much still...

Just playing around the oth day in the darkroom.
Good idea Willie,
I did a test strip from my box of expired in 1991 film, and I am pleasantly surprised.
It looks like shooting it around ISO 50 is just about right. Very little fogging if any....
You know you are always welcome here Fred, the same as anyone else here.
I will try my best to take time off work, and guide you around.
Last year I brought out my Linhof 4x5 for an East Coast...
I wasn't blaming anyone Drew,
I have just never seen an issue like it and was wondering what caused it.
Plus if there was a work around.
Although I can understand what you are saying I guess...
Thanks Bernice,
I honestly only use the 8x10 for my artwork, and use my 4x5 or 5x7 when it's more important.
Mostly because of the more modern shutters in my smaller formats. I only use barrel...
I love the photo John,
It gives me hope for a box expired in 1991 included with my 2D
Thanks for all the responses, I will just chalk it down as a bad batch.
I did get it from a trusted member...
I bought an outdated box of T-max 100 a couple years ago and have had the same problem with the entire box.

The edges are always good, but the centre always has the think dye layer on.
...
Just a couple things to consider.
It's tough to beat the quality of your Pentax lenses plus there is a good chance you where using a faster shutter speed. So therefore less motion blur.
I don't know about the age, but I would think that cameras from the war erra would have been painted that ugly grey colour. So it should blend in.
I wouldn't be too concerned about the weather. ...
I just number mine, and use a letter on the second side.
Since I started with 4x5 they start from #1 and go up to something like #30A
With my 5x7 and 8x10 it is still the same, except I start...
Good to know,
I bought polaroid 4x5 back right around the time they cancelled the project. I was almost heartbroken at the time.
6x6,
If you are in British Columbia (preferably Kelowna) let me know and I will take you around for a day and let you try my 3 main cameras.
A 4x5 Linhof press camera.
5x7 Burke & James
And an...
I would imagine that the box built onto the lensboard contains a Packard shutter, which to me is a bonus. However you can buy them cheap so it shouldn't effect the price.
I can't recognize the...
6x6,
I started shooting bigger and bigger cameras because I am getting older and my eyes are getting weaker, and a bigger camera is easier to focus.
Plus I prefer lifting heavy cameras over...
Well Steve, this is a warning.
Once I bought an 5x7 I almost put my 4x5 away and forgot about it. It only comes out on trips.
Now that I also own an 8x10, my 5x7 is still my choice camera for hikes...
It took me 2 years to find a Durst 8x10 enlarger.
When I did find it, it was a days triip per direction, and well worth the trip.
I used to have that problem, then I dumped my girlfriend. ...
I have a temperature controlled water bath system I kept the chemistry bottles in.
It was really too small for my use but worked.
I plan on doing something larger but similar soon and am hoping on...
With my 8x10 I have it in one of those soft plasticy day coolers, and that inside a hard cased cooler that is big enough to hold 6 additional film holders.
With my 5x7 I just store it in a hard...
andreios,
When I bought my 8x10 it had a Packard nicely installed, so it gave me the chance to use some of the barrel lenses I had been collecting.
Now I prefer shooting with the often vintage...
I have only developed color slide film, however I am thinking of stepping into the world of color negatives and printing after my darkroom is completed.
I have got to ask, did you use a daylight...
I guess I am going to be the odd man out.
Although those who said their 5x7 weights the same or less than their 4x5 are absolutely right the reason I pull out my 4x5 is to reduce the amount of...
I could see that being a problem years ago, however with all the cheap electric pumps today it's easy.
I elevate my large trays and just syphon them out. However I am thinking of developing a gutter...
I buildings trays out of plywood 2x2 nd lined them with plastic sheeting.
I plan on remaking them with 1x2, and painting them with marine paint.
I also plan on making a sink. Like Dan said there...
It's really no different than focusing on the ground glass.
If you want a nice sharp image without laying your face right on the paper you should be able to use a nice more powerful magnifying glass...
My dark cloth is water resistant, and has covered my Burke & James 5x7 a few times without any issues
My present darkroom is in a large unfinished metal Quonset Hut with highly reflective bare steel walls.
I have never had any fogging. I probably would if the walls where closer, but at over 10'...
One of us must be doing something Brad,
My 8x10 gear won't all fit in a childs dresser, and I just started shooting 8x10 not even a month ago.
I have only experienced it with Kodak film, and it is even on my 8x10 sheets.
If I remember about it I use a pair of scissors, otherwise I just tear it carefully.
I do like it since I feel that...
I almost hate to say that I have a phone app for when I am travelling light, but I do.
I have never been let down by them either.
I have got to agree with you,
The lady I bought my 8x10 Kodak 2D and Durst 183 from had to give it all up due to health reasons.
I myself can barely walk some days due to spinal injuries in my...
I personally started with 4x5 6 years ago switched to 5x7 3 years ago, and although I bought a 8x10 that still needs restoring 2 years ago it wasn't until I bought a 8x10 enlarger plus a beautiful...
I have the filter behind my lens quite often, and have never had an issue while focusing through the filter
Just in case you haven't already noticed, you can do the same sort of thing with the aperture too.
I do this while using a Packard shutter on instantaneous.
I second this.
When I need a lens hood I just use the dark slide and hold it just far enough so the glass element has a shadow covering it. If there are filter threads on the lens I usually have...
If this helps I just pushed a sheet of tmax 100 one stop in solution B at 20c for 8 minutes and am happy with the results.
This was 2 stops at 10 minutes.
