  1. Re: Fallowfield London Wide Angle 7 1/4x4 1/2 1855 Lens

As it runs out it fits well on a digital camera. It has an M39 thread and its wide angle means the crop factor is reduced and it actually takes a reasonable picture. 155052155052
  2. Re: Fallowfield London Wide Angle 7 1/4x4 1/2 1855 Lens

Thank you all so much for your expert help. I'll just go away now and shoot myself. I got the lens on the strength of the age. I paid £46 with some other bits all in.

    My thing is getting these...

  4. Fallowfield London Wide Angle 7 1/4x4 1/2 1855 Lens

Just won on eBay tonight. Marked "Fallowfield London Wide Angle 7 1/4x4 1/2 1855". My own research shows Jonathan Fallowfield starting business in 1856, so this is an early one! Can anyone tell me...
  5. Re: Thornton and Pikard "Amber" lens on a digital camera

The lens itself isn't in tip top condition, although not too bad considering its age. How long it has been kicking around and off a camera is anyone's guess. As can be see from my FB page, I came...
  6. Thornton and Pikard "Amber" lens on a digital camera

I'm still playing around with old lenses on modern cameras (Canon EOS-M mirrorless). Best picture so far is from Comic Con London so I thought that I would share....
  7. Re: A mysterious lens - Help need with identification please

Well well well. It pays to read around this forum. I have now discovered that whilst the top part that unscrews is a heavy bit of glass, the base is indeed two thin lenses with an air space between....

    https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/220008249/vintage-brass-lens-petzval-lens-6-f4-for?ref=related-1

This seems very much like mine incl an arrow (but at the "wrong" end and the "wrong" arrow) and the...
  9. Re: A mysterious lens - Help need with identification please

To you and to Steven, it seems to be very much a plain arrow ie ↑ . The only correct information I have is that is SUPPOSED to be a military lens. I have properly measured it and is 85mm tall and...
  10. Re: A mysterious lens - Help need with identification please

It might still be a Busch but that information was part of the erroneous information from the seller. I had thought that the serial number was military. A military projection lens? Puts the image...
  11. A mysterious lens - Help need with identification please

I bought this lens on ebay from a seller who got all the details wrong (from another listing). The only information he was able to tell me was that the person who sold it to him said it was a...
