John,
Beautiful shot! Fisheating Creek is a beautiful area, especially as you go up creek. One of the few pristine stands remaining in Florida.

Here's one of Triple Falls in Dupont State Forest, NC.
FP4+ Shen Hao w/Schneider 65mm SA f/8
Some great pics! I'm definitely enjoying the variety for a change.
Rory, I love it!

I'd recommend Pisgah National Forest, more beautiful and certainly a whole lot quieter than SMNP. Also enjoyed several beautiful falls in DuPont State Forest (especially triple falls).

A new pic from my trip to Chi-town to visit family. Had a few chances to get out and shoot.

Walter and Vinny-
Thanks, I will be predominantly shooting with wide angles and smaller aperatures as well. I hadn't really thought about this fact (relatively new to LF in general), just had been...

Just got my first box myself! I've never shot IR before and therefore will be of little help in answering any specifics. If I understand correctly, an 87C is too opaque, but that an 89B or...
I would second the notion for testing for your specific EI. I, myself, develop in homemade tubes and had originally developed FP4+ by dropping 'normal' development times by about 15% in ID-11 (D76)....

Are they still shipping samples of their film and if so, what is the link for those of us that may want to try?
Thanks,
Peter
Has anyone had a chance to shoot and test the new film yet? I'm curiously awaiting peoples opinions, but having never shot IR film before, cannot reliably test and provide an opinion myself. I'm...

I've tried a variety of scanning methods with B&W output on my 4990 and consistantly come up with better B&W and Color-to-B&W scans with the Epson software as well. Then again, I don't have...
I can agree that it is somewhat a question of style. Most of what I do are landscapes here in Florida and prefer strong, contrasty light for open shots, otherwise it just doesn't feel 'right'. More...
I think Clyde is a remarkable guy, easy going, and willing to offer advice to aspiring LFers such as a myself. John is right, when he speaks of color photography, he simply states it doesn't work...
Ken-
Well put on all accounts, but as you stated, my original intent was to see how many toned in there digital output and if so, what method they use.

If this doesn't even apply to...
First, thank you all for your responses. I'm relatively new to film photography, having only been practicing LF for approximately a year now. I develop my own negs, but I've unfortunately never had...
Before I start, I know toning, whether digitally or not, is a matter of personal preference. But I thought it was worth asking how many tone their digital scans for print using more traditional...

Do you control the degree of 'IR effect' not only with the filter on this film, but by how much you overexpose it?
Peter
I'm no expert, but the streaks possibly from uneven development? Hard to say without seeing them.

... or is that what the Rollei film is supposed to be?
Macophot was supposed to release a faster version of the 820c that was more in line with stated ISOs. Anyone know if it ever came out?
Peter
Thanks Jack, I'm going to certainly have to give that a try, very likely in addition to wetmounting on my 4990.
Peter
Jack-
OUt of curiousity, how thick is the glass you've been using on the 4990?
Peter
Thanks Sandy, I'm going to give that a try before purchasing a kit. Thanks for the advice.
Peter
Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate the help.
Peter
Any recommendations as to where I can purchase (online) a wet mount kit for an Epson 4990?
Thanks in advance,
Peter
