Looks like the same Toko I have :)
Do you have problems with focus creep with the camera pointed downwards?

That's a lovely camera, and an even prettier view! I have been to Skyline Drive and it's gorgeous.
This is the most wonderful thread ever :)
That is a real dream machine!
They do, and their 8x10s are quite lovely.
I did kind of ask for it though!
I am actually quite pleased with the responses. Except for a couple that seemed to be trying to tell me to...
Round two....
I like this reply. This isn't about making a billion dollars. Or even dollars. It's about spreading the popularity of Large Format. I just thought maybe building something...
Thank you all for your replies, I'll try to get to everybody. I appreciate the clarity, kindness, civility and thought that went into all these responses.
You are not being rude :) Part of...
A friend and I have been discussing the possibility of designing and building a large format 8x10, designed to sell brand new for $500 or less.
4x5s are available very cheaply on the used market,...
"Mint" should only be used to describe coins. Or maybe mints. But I would describe camera gear as either "New" or "Like New".
Well, yes. But I mean the first impression. That is a very large and lovely lens and camera combo.
I should try that with my 8x10, it still has pretty bad halitosis inside the bellows.
With that big ol' lens and nothing to provide scale it looks like a 4x5!
Don't feel bad. You couldn't have done anything sillier than what I did when I got my first LF camera:

I have a Large Format 8x10 Korona that was displayed by the previous owner for a quarter century without being shot, and it was purchased from an antique store, not a camera store.
The treatment...
Audacity is my go-to free recording software. Free as in speech, as well as free as in beer :)
Because of how Focal Plane shutters work, and the fact that Audacity is a sound recording...
I miss these :(
I"ve learned that LF equipment depriciates quickly when I buy it.
Good luck, and I wish you well. I don't own a 7x17 but I may throw in a small pledge just to help.
Also, looks like your 8x10 is a Korona...I have a Korona myself, and I love it!
I wish I could share the love...but I've only been into large format for a couple of years. I've only been a self-identified Photographer since 2009. But I hope someday I can look back fondly on...
So much for bucking the stereotype that LF photographers are luddites.
I tried it, but keeping in the habit of using it was difficult for some reason. I've never been a good note taker.
Also,...
that's pretty Kickin'. I enjoyed that! Love the wallpaper!
I agree. I've been meaning to see what the push characteristics of HP5 are in larger formats. I'm told you can push that stuff up to ISO 6400 with few ill effects, and 1600-3200 are peachy. I've...
Holy crap, I love it.
I carry a super graphic in the large Ape case sold on Amazon. It's a cheap case but suprisingly good.
It contains:
Front pocket: in the three little interior pockets, the 101mm f/5.5 soft...
When I still had my 4x5 back I was happy to pay the 24.95 for it over the $8.99 for the smaller size. But I got out of it once I heard it was discontinued.
When I hear a photography product is...
I typically use 400 speed, but that's a function of my wanting to use my Graflex handheld occasionally, and wanting to take portraits without people holding still for too long. I do love a good,...
I have an 8x10 Korona, and though I certainly wouldn't say it's light, I would say that if I could get mine into a backpack I'd have a good time of taking it far afield.
Unfortunately, I can't...
You wet-plate maniacs are awesome! Very cool cameras, and excellent photographs.
I third the repsonses for the sports-finder. I Would have likely never bought a Super Graphic, but would have instead gone for a field camera, if not for the ability to shoot completely handheld.

Short version: I have used everything up to and including F/64 for extreme situations where DoF is necessary, but generally I shoot most work at f/16 and f/22.
Long version: on 4x5 I typically...
Congrats, Scott! Well done!
Well, after several more rounds of tinkering, I got it up and running. Still have to stain the lens board, but i've taken and developed images with it!

I know you have big batches in mind and that you don't want a discontinued solution...I also know they're harder to find than hen's teeth, but if you come across a Paterson Orbital Processing Tray,...
That's about the size of it, but don't despair. Your Super Graphic has better movements than a typcial speeder, so you can dedicate the Speed to handheld work and the Super to view camera work.
From my personal experience, I fit a Super Graphic and up to 6 lenses (3 rather large ones plus 3 very slim ones), plus a grafmatic and 5-8 regular holders , spotmeter, reflected light meter, cable...
Wouldn't printing your GITD image on analog media take you right back to your problem of not wanting to keep darkroom chemicals around?
I do like the DSLR box idea. I just thought with the...
I read several threads on Combiplans before I bought mine and always handled it appropriately. I followed all the instructions, too. I am not too proud to read a manual. If it works for you,...
Okay, silly idea.
What if you mounted a small digital still camera to the front standard inside the bellows, just above or below the lensboard? Take the exposure, then as soon as the shutter's...
Bob,
I don't mean to say anything bad about anybody's product, but I have to relate my honest experiences with the tank. I read all the documentation, several times, and test-loaded it in the...
