    Re: Spikes for Manfrotto 055

    Thanks!

I found a picture of the 055SPK spikes on the website of a local store. These look like they go inside the legs vs. the 055SPK2 shown on the Manfrotto website which are clamped around the...

    Spikes for Manfrotto 055

I would like to get spiked feet for my Manfrotto 055. I see on their website Manfrotto offers 2 different products, one called 055SPK and the other 055SPK2 ("SS spikes") - any idea what the...
  3. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

Thanks Fred, I'll just keep the Shen Hao ground glass, then! :) Satinsnow and Maxwell are way too expensive for me at the moment.

Mark, I really feel sorry... I don't even want to imagine my...
  4. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

    Hey, thanks! :)

I agree the refular Shen Hao ground glass is alright in normal daylight conditions. I find it to be a bit dark indoors but I have no experience whatsoever with large format so...
  5. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

Carl, you're right! The model I have doesn't have that scale, though. Well, it's not a big problem for me, it would just be nice to have, some simple dots would work just fine (as on the Chamonix).
  6. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

Hey, just read all the replies here. Thanks everyone!

I got the PTB45 in the meantime and basically concur with Fred and vwizz, my impression is really positive overall but there are some minor...

Ok, thanks people that's what I was hoping to hear. :-)
  8. Nikkor lens / Copal shutter: does aperture dial lock in 1/3 steps?

    Hello,

A quick question, just received a used Nikkor W 150mm lens in Copal 0 shutter I bought on eBay. I noticed the aperture dial wheel can be moved freely, there are no 1/3 stop "clicks". Sorry...
  9. Re: "Taco" methos developing problem + some newbie questions

Well, I haven't decided yet. I'm not sure if the taco technique caused the problem or something else. The obvious advantage of the taco method is it can be done in daylight. Anyway, thanks for your...
  10. Re: "Taco" methos developing problem + some newbie questions

Thank you, Gem! I don't think the rubber band was the problem, though. As you say the line in the picture is horizontal, if it was caused by the rubber band it should be vertical (refering here to...
  11. "Taco" methos developing problem + some newbie questions

    Hello forum members,

I am very new to large format photography, just a few days ago received my first 4x5 camera, a Shen Hao PTB 45. I usually (in medium format) shoot in colour but I got some...
  12. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

Gene you're right, duty and tax is what makes the Chamonix quite a bit more expensive for me. Camera body + lensboard + shipping = 918 USD, to that I'd have to add 4,2% import duty = 956 USD, and to...
  13. Re: Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

    Thank you, Scott. Sounds promising!
  14. Shen Hao PTB45, anyone here actually using it?

    Hi,

This is my first post here but I have been browsing this forum for some time now, I'd just like to say this place is a great resource, I have already learned so much just searching the...
