  1. Re: How have you shopped for lenses over the years?

I bought my used LF lenses from camera stores up until the late 1990's when Ebay was the choice.

Then in the late 90's camera shows were a good source where I found a Zeiss Protarlinse set with...
  2. Re: Luna-pro advice. Which ones do you like and why?

I had a Luna Pro in the 1970's, then in the late 1980's, a Minolta III used mostly for incident readings. Then in the late 90's I bought the new Sekonic L508 that did everything I needed. Still have...

    Re: 135 Planar 3.5

[QUOTE=Dan Fromm;1697650]OP, any lens cells that are direct fits in a Compur/Copal standard #1 will fit the shutter.

Done this before: you can determine the actual f-stop by trial and error. Besides it is not critical when shooting B/W.

I will be shooting 6x12 with a couple of Linhof Techno Rollex's. The original planar was in the mount for the Linhof Aero Technika 45EL, so want to keep it at 135 to use the mount.244161

    135 Planar 3.5

I am considering getting an outfit that includes what used to be a 135 Planar 3.5. The elements have been removed from the Compur Electronic #1 shutter. Short of finding a set of Planar elements,...
  7. Re: What's your favorite internet falsehood on photography?

Years ago, around the time of the early internet (or maybe earlier) I was intrigued by an advert from Olympus about their amazing camera and its exposure system (that obviously everyone needed). It...
  8. Re: [Asking for advices] The very first 150 mm lens to buy

The last of the Symmar's does appear to be the "best". But sometimes the oldies are remarkably good, For example I once aquired a lens cheaply because it had a brown haze to it. Well it turns out it...
  9. Re: [Asking for advices] The very first 150 mm lens to buy

Both are good. Don't be afraid of Schneideritis it is only on the barrel and does not effect the image.
I started with a slightly wider 135 Symmar many years ago and still have 24x30 and 8x10...

My Linhof Technika V 5x7 arrived today with serial number 2451101. I think it is one of the last before they were discontinued in 1983. Thanks Bob for any information on this.
