Don't worry, it won't break and fall. If the stand gets damaged, it will happen during storage, transport or you setting it up.... but once it stands, it stands. I've been using such stands for...
So... you plan to make large fornat still life photo's in a studio setting.
You have one Elinchrom Style rx1200 studio flash unit.
Sounds like you will not be making photo's in very stressful...
Welcome!
Feel free to contact me in case you want some sparring. I do 35mm, medium format and 4x5", depending on the type of subject, the conditions and the mood I'm in. Take a look at my website if...
"I need to find a way do constant add and drain water"
That is not needed at all. Put the paper in the water, move it up and down a few times, leave it there for a few minutes, occasionally moving...
They actually got married in Monaco, back in november. Lina was already very successful before she got engaged with Mirko.

"Robert Doisneau" by Jean Claude Gautrand, published by TASCHEN, 2014. The book measures 26 by 34 cm and with 540 pages the weight is some 4 kilograms.
This makes it very useful for flattening...
Fomadon Excel is a (more or less?) exact copy of Xtol.
You are referring to an article written in 2008, when people were still trying to argue that "film is better than analog". It's 2020 now, digital has made major steps forward, analog stood still. In...
The eruption of Tambora in 1815 was many times more powerful than Krakatoa; see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1815_eruption_of_Mount_Tambora
I've published 2 books over the past years and Im currently working on another 2.
None of these books is meant to make a profit. My first book "Droomplek / Dreamplace" is a fairly personal...
The head receives its power directly from the power supply unit; there are no electronic components in the head. So the issue must be in the power supply or the control panel; I would suspect the...
You need a 35mm or medium format camera.
Uneven pressure might well be the cause. Or temperature too low? What temperature are you using? Are the prints really dry before pressing them? And what helps a lot: before pressing, cut away at...
Is there a deeper thought behind the "PANIC" button on the car key, in this context?
A standard condensor with a household LED bulb (4000K or above) works perfectly fine. No need to construct or adapt anything. Just replace the traditional tungsten bulb with a LED bulb and off you...
Welcome! Nice photo; can you provide some more information on that 4x5" holder to make shots on Fuji Instax wide film? Is that a commercial product or did you fabricate it yourself?
I'm not familiar with the Omega D2 but looking at pictures on the internet it looks like a condensor enlarger, using a light bulb. So the easiest solution would be to replace original the ligt bulb...
Interesting. But strange action plan:
"With the above in mind we are:
Creating a new tool on our website for people to find a darkroom near them."
That tool has been existing for years already:...
If you want a really large, strong, comfortable tent that lasts a lifetime, nothing beats a De Waard, especially the Vergrote Zilvermeeuw (Enlarged Seagull):...
The upper 2/3rd of the image is great! I would suggest the cut away the lower 1/3rd part of the image.
Leigh, that is great information! I did not know this. My first Multigrade 500 power supply got overheated and the transformer burnt. It actually happened while the system was powered off but the...
I'd suggest you try to find a head that matches the power supply. The power supply is the weak part of the system, they tend to blow up. You can find heads, controllers etc. on eBay but I've never...
In The Hague, the Gemeentemuseum / Fotomuseum is a must. As Roy mentioned, the museum in Rotterdam (20 minutes by train from The Hague) is also really worthwhile. Amsterdam (some 40 minutes by train...
I much enjoyed the 2 websites you provided! I noticed that the gallery is advertising your prints for sale as "inkjet fine art prints". Since the images were made on 4x5" film I would expect analog...
Congratulations, Robert! The 2 photo's in your announcement are superb.
I just returned from a 2 1/2 week round trip in Nicaragua and I was impressed by the country, its history and the people. Is...
Interesting.... in the USA there are still universities, schools, art schools, communities, companies operating darkrooms? Over here (Netherlands, and I think most of Europe) that time is long gone....
Maris Rusis, thanks for posting this!
So... I really shouldn't worry about the environmental impact of disposing my (quite minimal) used B&W chemicals?
I always bring my fixer and film developer...
There's a difference between illegal and irresponsible. Illegal depends on local legislation.
Irresponsible: B&W film developer and all fixer should be disposed of in a way that ensures proper...
I cannot open / enlarge the attached images. Can you upload in a way such that they can be enlarged? I'm not sure whether I can help but without seeing the images in a larger size it's very difficult...
Grain... I love it! To me it's an essential characteristic of analog photography.
Kodak Tri-X 35mm in Rodinal 1+25 or 1+50, normal agitation (= NO stand development) = the best analog B&W...
My experience: it depends on the film. Ilford FP4 will do fine with some 4 or 5 fill/agitate/dump cycles over 10-15 minutes. Kodak Tmax needs more: I take at least 30 minutes and some 8 refills.
Mike, great shot! I really like the way you played with motion and (un)sharpness. I'm immediately falling in love with this beautiful girl and scenery. I wish I was there!
Once you have the glass one can easily make a negative carrier; as said, I did it in the past and it worked just fine.
You can buy the glass here: https://secure31.webhostinghub.com/~fpoint5/store/agora.cgi?cart_id=5809346.23058*L18R98&product=ENLARGER_GLASS

Haha...... A dirty mind is a joy forever!
Great!
Forget about the Zone system. Use a good light meter and apply simple corrections for the most obvious deviations (e.g. a very bright sky). I would even recommend: start with 35mm and practice that...
Now... you call yourself a newbie.... Does that mean 8x10 is new for you? Or is the Zone system new to you? Is B&W film developing new to you?
What you're describing feels like a very sophisticated...
Bipin, interesting! Can you please tell a bit more about the Mordancage idea?
Seems like this thread is dying..... Does that mean that everybody prefers to stay in his / her comfort zone, shooting the same LF photo's we've been doing over the past 50 years? That worries me: my...
