    Thanks for the tip, that works well for me too in my scanning results! (Silverfast @6400dpi).
    Prior to that I had more modest sharpening, 0.5pix 200%.

    Not a worry Pali, ive just discovered this thread so there plenty to sift through.
    As a V800 user, ive never tried 6400dpi and usually topped out at 3200, but now I might give it a go!

    I didnt think of that at the time. I have thought about getting an 81b filter too, but thanks for the tip.
    Gumtree leaves do have a blueish green colour about them naturally as well.

    Update for those curious or concerned, i replaced the four individual LR44 batteries with the one 4LR44 battery and all is well again. Much relief that my investment wasnt a waste and all the fuss...
