    Re: Aircraft

Nice image Reinhold. I think there's an issue with your scanner though (D-max in lower left quarter of the image).

  3. Re: Kang Rinpoche S 600 F11.5 (Chinese Fujinon C 600mm )

I agree with all of the above. I'm only suggesting we express reasonable caution rather than borderline condemnation. I'm sure once a few folks try these optics the reports will trickle through. I...
  4. Re: Kang Rinpoche S 600 F11.5 (Chinese Fujinon C 600mm )

The 'relevance' of that post has to do with Chinese quality at least sometimes being quite good. That's what my post was addressing.
  5. Re: Kang Rinpoche S 600 F11.5 (Chinese Fujinon C 600mm )

    ...and don't forget Chamonix. :)
  6. Re: Kang Rinpoche S 600 F11.5 (Chinese Fujinon C 600mm )

Speed control could easily be on the shutter via small push buttons and alpha-numeric display. There's no need for a lever. Ease-of-use could be enhanced by a wired or wireless remote. The aperture...
  7. Re: Agitation Technique with Tanks/Hangers

It's been a million years since I've developed sheet film but my method was almost identical to the OP's. However, I didn't agitate continuously the first minute, I didn't keep the film out of the...

    Wow!!
  16. Re: Should I upgrade my 150mm Symmar-S?

I see a very significant difference in 'perspective' between 150mm and 210mm, not to mention there will probably be times where changing distance isn't entirely effective for composition, requiring...
  17. Re: An Upgrade question

I think the only reason for an upgrade is if you need a larger image circle. Do have other lenses in various focal lengths?

  19. Re: Question About Lens Mounting Flanges

You could adapt your various lens boards to accept one common board. For instance, I once had a Crown Graphic and Toyo View monorail. I mounted the front bits from a broken 4x5 Graflex to the front...

Austin, what film and developer did you use? Significant post processing after the scan?
  22. Re: MF (6x4.5,6x6,6x7,6x9,6x12) B&W film images sharing

    Nice one Austin!!
  23. Re: Is my lens too big?

IMO, 90mm is the limit on the Chamonix for a lot of shift. A bag bellows will help.

Re: Focal length vs. field of view?

I'm only repeating what others have written but maybe this is a little easier to understand.

Foreshortening (many call this perspective distortion) is affected by subject to camera/lens distance....

    LOL, Corran. :D
  27. Re: MF (6x4.5,6x6,6x7,6x9,6x12) B&W film images sharing

Very nice well-balance and interest composition, Austin. I think that's the best image of Easter Island statues I've seen.

Side note: I wonder if anyone has investigated what might be buried...
  28. Re: Hi. New Here. Have a lens problem

I think I read somewhere that Kodak used modified Ilex shutters on some of their lenses. Is it possible the shutter was replaced and the aperture scale transferred?

    Re: Filter Really Stuck...Help!

If you do cut it off, make sure you thoroughly cover the glass before cutting and assure every spec of ground metal is removed.

  37. Re: European alternatives to (Commercial) Ektars?

I really like that one, Corran. I prefer to see a bit of texture in the water because it shows fluid movement rather than looking like textureless fog. The overall textures and tones are lovely. I...
