Hi Louis, Thanks a lot for the great info. I was hoping to have found a soft focus lens...
For giving it a try, I will have to pay 250 Euros to the seller. Is it worth? I have no clue of the price...
Hi All,
I am trying to find info on a brass lens from Taylor, Taylor and Hobson, with engraved:
406 mm Cooke Anastigmat f/5.6 series IV.
Does anyone know what type of lens is that?
Thanks!...
Thanks Craig, that's interesting. I'll try this setup!

Very nice lightning. How did you achieve that? A huge window light just over the camera?
Thanks.

I use my digital video camera for measuring 1/30 or longer times. This camera takes a digital video at a speed of 30 frames/second. I first record the shutter opening and closing, and than watch the...
The calendar is everything but arbitrary. It took the best brains and knowledge of their era, to come up with the Julian calendar in 46 BC, and the Gregorian calendar in 1582.

Just saw this thread. I don't know if you are still looking for this info. Anyway you will find the 4x5 filmin both those places:

When I use a fresnel lens in studio, I notice that the light circle does not have a uniform distribution.

Even if those shots were taken with continuos lights, I would suggest you to use flash lights, if you want to try to do the same. Flashes are more flexible, and you will avoid cooking your model,...
AHAHAH
I wanted to post something similar too!
Lovely and poetic shots.
Great job.
Thanks Marko! :)
This thread was a great reading. Thanks to All.
Thanks Bob. Yes, the lenses numbers match those on the cam, and I know that the camera was reviosed in 2003. But, I am not able to evaluate if the camera works fine, and the seller knows no more then...
Hello Bob,
I was able to check the number on the bottom of the cam, and it matches the one on flash shoe: 47030. Does it tell you anything about this camera?
Thanks

First picture taken with the Shen Hao camera I purchased from Marko here. Thanks Marko! :)
Don't give up. The difficulties are part of the fun. If you wanted it easy, you would be using a digital point and shot camera!
Thanks Peter.
I was doing similar considerations. The lenses are ok, as the entire set has been going through check up in 2003. There is certification together with the camera. But, that 6x9back is...
Thanks Peter. I'll collect my courage and I'll give it a try. :)
Thanks Peter. I guess I cannot go again there and dismantle the entire camera. Given that the model is identified, I probably I don't need to know that number. Anyway, the hot shoe doesn't look like...
Thanks Brian and Bob.
Bob, I am sorry. What is the cam? Is it the lens?
Here below there is another serial number engraved in the camera: 3655999. Is that the serial of the 65 mm lens?
...
ok. Now I know more.
The serial is correct, but the camera is not 4x5. A close inspection showed that is a 6x9 camera. Here it is:
...
Thanks to All! Tomorrow I'll check the serial and I'll take a shot of that camera with my mobile phone.
Thanks!

Found this great link:

Do you think is the same lens of page 7?
They do call it a portrait lens.
Thanks Steven!
Thank you Bob. Tomorrow I'll check again the serial number, which is engraved in the hot shoe. Anyway the same seller a few weeks ago had a stardard press, and this one looks much nicer and seems to...
Thanks Dan. The cleaning marks are evident because I flashed straight in the front of the lens. In reality it looks better then that.
I was actually hoping it was one of those soft focus portrait...
I have a chance to buy a Linhof Technika which is III series, I believe, as serial is 47030.
It is in very good conditions, and it comes with 3 lenses:
65 f/6.8
105 f/3.5
180 f/5.5
Seller is...
A friend of mine brought me today this huge thing:

Thank you Mark!
Thank you. I am overwhelmed. I am a total newbie at LF.
Thank you! From you, it's a great compliment.
Cristhopher, great shot the one above.
Here below, I tried to follow your advices from other threads, on being close enough to the subject.
This is Enzo, a photographer friend of mine:

Thanks Sascha! I actually didn't want the statue to become the focal point of the image, even if it is located in the center for keeping the symmetry of the image.

This is from my first walk with a 4x5 camera. It's actually the only one I like from that walk, out of 8-10 shots....
Fuji FP100C, Rodenstock Rotelar 270/6.6.
Shot taken today while trying out my terrible, home made field camera... :)
Thanks Pat! I'll try that!
The dust did not go away. I guess it was not dust. But I have noticed that the washing water was contaminated by some particles. Anyway the seond one I developed was ok.
Here is another experiment:...
