Re: 4x5 in Las Vegas Strip?

I'm pretty sure if you can walk around with (a lot of) liquor, on the street, anywhere you want anytime you want...you can find a way to make this work.

    Interestingly, I didn't have a problem...

    Poll: Re: 100 ASA Film

I've had wonderful results in Rollei Retro 100 in Rodinal. Similarly with Acros and Delta 100 although I've only shot a few rolls of those.

I shot TMX a lot more simply because it was more readily...

    Re: Paper Negs...a beginner asks

You could also try some Efke positive B&W paper. It's also high contrast but give Kodak's Selectol Soft paper developer a whirl...a good suggestion for either type of paper.

    Cool work!
  4. Re: Looking for (press?) camera recommendations

Frank gives the best advice, I'd say. I recently sold my Shen Hao wood field camera and it was not much different in weight than my Crown.

They're well made cameras, inexpensive and offer lots of...

    Re: 4x5 Drum Scans Canada?

Bob Carnie is a great person and very knowledgeable.

I can also recommend Lab Works in Winnipeg - they did some drum scans for a few of my 4x5 negs.

    Re: Thin B&W paper

    Interesting this came up now...

I bought some ERA paper on a trip to China last summer (RC type). It's about 10x12, and wow, is it thin. It actually curls, after drying, which is very weird to my...

    Re: Using Yankee developing tanks

Allow me to add my agreement to Bruce and Joanna - I learned the hard way that Yankee tanks just aren't good at properly developing 4x5 negs.

Unfortunately I learned that on negs from a trip to...

Re: Tray Film Developing - Timer?

Gralab timer works well - I've used it for tray processing and if it faces away at a decent distance, there's no chance of fogging.

I also downloaded the Massive Dev. Chart app for my iPod Touch....

    Folks
I'm endeavouring to set up my own website in the next 6 months.

Re: wet plate camera and lens question....

I can vouch for Ty Guillory (tystintypes) - I picked up a half plate camera from him and he was terrific to deal with.

    Consider Shen Hao, as well.

I got mine in Beijing, but they are available here and are well made cameras at a good price.

  16. Re: Scanning XPan panoramic negs -- suggestions?

    Hey Fred
I'd kinda like the option to scan for prints, hence the neg-scanner line o' thinking.
  17. Re: Scanning XPan panoramic negs -- suggestions?

Thanks! Much appreciated...I realize flatbeds have come a long way, but there's nothing like an actual film scan IMO.

The XPan is such a great camera and such a sharp lens - be a shame to lose...
  18. Re: Scanning XPan panoramic negs -- suggestions?

That'd be very generous of you, much appreciated. I've heard nothing but good things about Nikon scanners.
  19. Scanning XPan panoramic negs -- suggestions?

There are many scanners for regularly-sized 35mm film - Nikon, Polaroid, etc.

But I'm wondering if there are any suggestions for frames that are 24mm x 65mm (XPan), not just the regular dimensions...

    Omega enlarger lens boards
