You could also try some Efke positive B&W paper. It's also high contrast but give Kodak's Selectol Soft paper developer a whirl...a good suggestion for either type of paper.

To attach a lens to a board, do you simply unscrew the lens in half, assemble it over the board, and screw it back together?

So, I got myself into 8x10...figure, what the heck! I got 2 kidneys, and one of 'em will fetch a good price.

I received an old brass lens with this - not sure of make but it's a 12", flawless...

This is useful for me...I know these types of threads can be tedious, but for people in my situation -- new recipient of an old 8x10 wood camera having never used one before -- it's good to read.

If you're hybrid anyway, why not get a digital back for your 4x5?

I only had problems with people selling me crap in more rural areas or in crowded markets. Simply smile - NEVER lose your cool - and say "bu yao" (pronounced Boo Yow) and you'll be fine.

I got 2 from recent sales, and will never use 'em. Even came with all wires, bulbs, etc.

I just bought a Crown Graphic with the flash attachment, complete with all wires, etc. (trivia note: the original 'light sabres' used in the Star Wars movies were the handles for these flashes)...
