Re: Where to buy film and paper in Canada?

I think the photographers using 4x5 film should be fine and able to get the film from a number of places.

I always felt it was important to keep the weird sizes in stock like Delta 100 in 5x7, or...

Re: TV to display still images? 4k?

How would you sell that image a the gallery?
With the TV or just the file. It would be hard to get what it's worth if you just sell the file, compared to selling a 50" print.
    What are your thoughts.
  3. Re: 8x10 vs 4x5 keep/sell/wait/ the merry go round continues

Just go with 8x10. It's so much more enjoyable than shooting 4x5.

Re: TV to display still images? 4k?

If you put your images on a jump drive just take it down to the Sony store. They'll be happy to show you how it looks.

Re: TV to display still images? 4k?

I use 4K to show stills all the time.
They show the picture in 4K and the quality is outstanding. Viewers are amazed at the colour and detail.
They don't have an SD slot but a USB slot so you can...

    Re: at a crossroad

I ended up going the darkroom route. I just find it more enjoyable and spend too much time behind the computer already.

    Re: 135mm lens for architecture

Although the 135mm is a great length I would consider the 120mm f8 Nikkor. I use one on my 8x10 so it has great covering power and is wonderful for 4x5 work because you run out of camera before you...
  10. Re: Rob's Photo Cafe, I'm trying something new Saturday March 1, 2014

I think it will be fun.
I watched a movie about Paris in the 20's and how are artists all met for coffee because the coffee shops were warm and their homes were freezing. It seemed like a great...
  11. Rob's Photo Cafe, I'm trying something new Saturday March 1, 2014

In the past I've had a "Social Gathering Evening" once or twice a year for photographers to get together and share their latest projects. This year I'm changing it to a Saturday morning, and I'll...
  12. Re: what is your choice? Ebony SV810 or Lotus Rapid Field 810?

I had the SV810 for a number of years. I thought it was the nicest camera on the market. After I sold it I bought a Shen-Hao 4x10. It's nice but not in the same class. I also used a Dorff for a...

I printed them as 8x20. It worked out well. Just split a sheet of 16x20 in half and you can make two prints. The print size is rather nice.

I've been working on a series of portraits taken on one street in Hamilton, Ontario.
Kenilworth Avenue is a gritty part of town and I've been making images on the one street for about a year now....

    I sold one in Nov.

  25. Re: Do you enlarge 8x10 negs or only contact print?

For years I had a 4x5 camera and 4x5 enlarger.
Then I sold both and just shot smaller film for work.
One day I decided to get back into large format but realized my wife would kill me if I went out...

  30. Re: Ilford Delta 100 Sheet Film, Observations Please

I use it in 8x10, and 5x7 and even had a special run of 4x10 done last year.

    I'm making enlargements though.
