Re: E6 lab for 120 and 4x5 film?

Thanks for the added service labs. All bookmarked, and your input much appreciated.

  2. Re: Lens nodal point for panoramas with Sinar F ?

Interesting. That's one reason I prefer to use a 15mm prime when doing wide panos on a DSLR. Much simpler, and the lens is easier to position over the center of rotation.

    Thanks,

  3. Re: Lens nodal point for panoramas with Sinar F ?

Thanks much. Especially for the information concerning the entrance pupil for wide-angle lenses, which simplifies locating the rotational point for the camera if and when needed. Rear shift is...
  4. Lens nodal point for panoramas with Sinar F ?

Is there anyone who has shot panoramas with a Sinar F? I would prefer to use 6x9 in the vertical position, and rotate the camera horizontally. I would use a 90 or 65 mm lens. Has anyone that has...

    Mounting ring for Copal 0

    Hi,

Seem to be missing an mounting ring for a Copal 0 shutter. I have a good idea where I left it, and it's a mildly humorous story. In the mean time, however, not having use of the lens without...

    Just a Thank You

Just wanted to thank everyone who helped get me started with lenses and other equipment for an older model Sinar F series. Based on recommendations here I've acquired a Rodenstock 90/6.8 and a...

Re: E6 lab for 120 and 4x5 film?

    Very cool.

By the way, I bumped into a Nikkor 65/4 on a Sinar board for a decent price. Couldn't resist since the board was included. I know I said I wanted a 75 for 4x5 work, but I'm feeling...

    E6 lab for 120 and 4x5 film?

When I recently jumped back into medium and large format I did my research in the wrong direction. I started with equipment, but should have started with film processing. To my dismay I've recently...

    Re: V500 scans

Thanks, Doug. That's another vote for Epson. The Microtek I've used for years still works fine, but is currently claimed by my wife :). I suspect opinions on Epson vs Microtek vary depending on...

    Re: V500 scans

Since I just decided to do more 4x5 work I'll probably be in the market for a V700/750 in the near future. There is also a similarly-priced Microtek scanner that has glassless scanning of negatives...

    Re: V500 scans

Thanks to both. I suspect a 700 or 750 to be an item in the near future as I'm also doing some 4x5. The reset button helps a lot, thanks. BAB

    Re: Sinar questions

Also, checking the front standard it appears that all the parts are metal on the device that attaches the standard to the rail. It's a F1 standard (no geared focus) but perhaps the base was changed...

    V500 scans

Recently acquired an Epson V500 for scanning film. When scanning b/w negatives I'm finding there is no way to get just a straight-line scan, i.e., a straight line from darkest to lightest tone in...

Re: A ridiculous question but I couldn't resist

Rick and Ari: I may consider an SA65/8 for 6x9, as the older lenses are less expensive, and this isn't a lens length I would use much on 4x5. I don't believe. I could change my mind after a few...

Re: A ridiculous question but I couldn't resist

Thanks for the recommendations. It seems 90mm is everyone's favorite for architectural work in 4x5, so I may change my mind. Certainly couldn't go wrong.

That would indeed. I've always liked the G-Claron lenses.

Great suggestions for lenses. The 72 SA XL is my single best choice for a wide angle. And I have a 180. So that leave something in the middle, like a 90 to...

Re: A ridiculous question but I couldn't resist

Thanks for the advice on the lenses. If I weren't thinking of using primarily roll-film I'd be happy with a 90mm. Unfortunately, with a 2x3 that's like using my Rollei. I'm beginning to believe...
