    Re: 210, 240 or 300mm?

    +1

305 G Claron is another option that might be better if you are considering 8x10.

Does not help you now, but the Photobackpacker film holder bags are the way to go.

    Re: Warmtone Paper developer

Try Ilford Warmtone developer. You could try Dektol 1:3 which I like with Ilford Warmtone paper.
  4. Re: 8x10 b/w processing - tubes, trays or?

I think it depends most on your budget. Jobo is the best and easiest but by far the most expensive. Trays are the trickiest and the cheapest and us the most chemicals.

    Sounds like you are...

    Re: Looking for a 300 f/5.6 for 5x7

Just make sure you realize how big these lenses are. I picked up a 360/5.6 and was blown away. It's a boat anchor. Make sure you have a strong front standard and a filter system big enough.

  7. Re: 3 lens turret, practical for home darkroom?

I had a Beseler 3 lens turret. I got rid of it. It was impossible to align, and even if it were possible, I would have had to align it every time I changed the lens. That is no advantage over...

    Re: print drying question?

Face up. But I gave up screens altogether. I had some screen marks even drying face up. Now I hang them from a line, usually with two prints back to back, and no problems and reasonably flat prints.

Re: Even "eaten crow"? I just did...

Thanks Vinny. For me, I like the rear tilt but could not give up the asymmetrical rear swing. As far as I know, only one of the very expensive Ebony 8x10's has it as well. Plus it is durable. I put a...

    Re: Transporting 8X10 gear

The challenge is getting the weight centered over the axle so you don't wear your arms out. You might have better luck with a jogging stroller.
  12. Re: Do you work directly from your pack, or from a ground tarp?

When I work out of my pack, I do it one of two ways:

The pack is resting in my jogging stroller
The pack is placed on a space blanket that I spread on the ground to keep the pack clean and dry
  13. Re: Wanting to convey "blue" in a B&W photo???

Maybe you could take a photo of photography books and analog photo equipment in a dumpster, one straight and one cyanotype! Blue and bluer.

  17. Re: 50mm Lens Choices... and which of my lenses sucks most

    Re: BTZS tubes for 8x10

  21. Re: Use of Jobo Expert Drums, filling & emptying

  23. Re: Use of Jobo Expert Drums, filling & emptying

Re: Choosing an 8x10 folding camera

  29. Re: Decent rain-repellant spray/treatment for darkcloth, backpack?
