    Re: Fiordlands, South Island, NZ

You are going to be flat out, its a long slog back up the west coast to Picton but some lovely scenery.

For me Milford sound itself was a bit of a let down, tourists everywhere, planes buzzing...
  2. Re: BW Development > What time can I switch the lights on?

Another count for lights on when the film is in the stop bath. As an experiment with paper you can turn the light on when its in dev, and watch it darken, then move it to the stop and watch it...

This is a thread specifically for 6x17 photos, can't we just confine them to that and not go back to that age old debate?

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

Having a play with a new lens (180mm Commercial Congo). The film holder leaked a bit through the slot (forgot my darkcloth so couldn't shield it effectively) but I don't mind the effect.

  6. Re: International 4x5 E6 & B&W (TMAX) Processing - Recommendations

Love these guys pricing: http://www.samys805.com/film-processing/ apparently very capable and do mail order within the states at least, might be worth an inquiry.
  7. Re: International 4x5 E6 & B&W (TMAX) Processing - Recommendations

Damn, I was looking forward to getting some E6 done, I could live with the prices as they were, but thats brutal.

I do my c-41 with a Tetenal kit ordered through Lacklands, its been very...
  8. Re: macro photography: generating a plane of light?

You can get devices that project a line of red laser light from many sources, and they are only a few dollars. They would be an interesting place to start. The lens assembly might be able to be...

Re: Wet plate with Sinar F2/4x5

welly, I have done a reasonable amount of research into obtaining the chemicals in NZ, which is not entirely straight forward as collodion is a class 3 dangerous good. PM or email me if you want to...

    Re: post your trees!

Nice image Carey, I think Palmy has quite a nice diversity of things to shoot within a small area, the lovely Esplanade, few neat places in town, and forestry and hills nearby.

Re: What is Kodak Professional Ultraline Film?

In an old Ilford manual I have it refers to films with the word "line" in the title as useful for copying blueprints and other line based documents. Probably very high contrast?

Re: Building a REALLY large format camera.

Good to see this thread, and collect ideas, I'm planning on making a camera to take the 24x30cm xray film with an 11x14 reducing back, with the option of wetplates.
